  1. Thanks for answering. The error is an error Code: 00007180 type. I folowed the reinstallation stpes and everything was working importing all of my music files. But since I needed to use the computer I stopped it so that I could continue later and guess what? The same error comes up again and seems that I will have to redo the whole process again!. Will I be able to add more MP3 music to Sonicstage after I import the files I have in my PC or is this a futile effort? However, things suppose to improve for the better, so far this newer versions of Sonicstage are giving me too much trouble for doing the simple things older versions allowed me to do easily. I bought 2 CD players, 1 car stereo and a small radio for playing my atracc CD's and was about to get a couple of more Sony players, I have even talked to friends and relatives about it, but now I am dissapointed and discouraged for continue using atracc technology because of the pain Sonicstage has become. If these flaws are not fixed I will discontinue using atracc and Sonicstage and will not buy anymore Sony music equipment.
  2. If you convert from original CDs to atrac3plus 48 kbps the changes in quality are unoticiable, if you try to convert an already converteed file, then you will notice some significant changes in quality.
  3. I could only noticed significant change in quality if you try to compress an already compressed file. If you convert from the original source to the smallest format the changes are minimal or unoticiable. I did from my original CDs to Atracc3plus 48 kbps (the smallest atracc so far) and the sound was still great
  4. Short Story: I cannot import MP3’s from my music collection into the latest versions Sonicstage 4 & Sonicstage 4.2. That I could do with oldest versions of Sonicstage that now I can not install either because I still get the newest versions after uninstalling them. I either need to know: 1. How can I import my old MP3’s folders in the latest versions as I did with older Sonicstage versions? or, 2. How can I finally get rid of the newest versions and install older versions of Sonicstage? that allowed me to import my MP3’s into its library and burn them into an Atracc CD. 3. Any tips or tricks to get around this Long Story (if anyone interested): AT the beginning I loved Sonicstage because of the very small and high quality of its Atracc format, but after a few months I started to find frustrating flaws that really make me reconsider continue using it. I have a very large CD and cassette music collection that started to import into Sonicstage: Experience 1 Summer 2005 – I was so excited that I rushed to import all my music collection In a couple of weeks. After importing over 400 CDs into an external drive I noticed that I could not play them in other computers where they not were imported so I had to re import my whole collection again. Experience 2: January to August 2006 – After re-importing my whole CD music collection once again I got a digital music converter and began to do the same with my over 400 old cassette tapes converting them to MP3 and importing them into Sonicstage. After making several Atracc CDs I had a problem with my computer and had to restore the registry and guess what? All the converted collection form CD to Atracc was inactive, but at least I could still import MP3’s converted from cassettes into the old Sonicstage. Experience 3: November to December 2006 – After cursing Sonicstage for focing me to re-import my CD collection for a 3rd time, I made the mistake of upgrading to Sonicstage 4.0. It was faster and had rating features etc. Now I made the decision to import from CD into MP3’s instead of the prone to inactivation Atracc format to avoid any re-importing of my collection if anything happened to my computer. But guess what? Now the newest versions of Sonicstage (4 & 4.2) do not allow me to import any of my cassette converted to MP3 folders into the program so I can’t use them to burn Atracc or MP3 CD’s. Experience 4: December 2006 – After trying even to uninstall Sonicstage 4 to install an older version of the program, guess what? The same version 4 and now version 4.2 are the ones getting installed so I cannot solve the problem. PLEASE HELP
