I dont think you shd bother using sonicstage. drag and drop should work. create a folder named MUSIC , (all caps), drag and drop your music files. similar to psp approach. I am using sonyEricsson so903i in japan from docomo, the above procedure works fine. In my phone cd too there is sonicstage, I struggled the same way. But found that drag and drop works. I am 99% sure it will work for you. none of my SonyEricsson phones depend on sonicstage

the video in that link clearly says a810 is drag and drop, donno how ? Edit: A810 is drag and drop, no surprise in it. Coming back to your question a808 is not drag and drop.

check the noise cancel level in settings. keep it at max. I am using it for almost an year, no problems for me.

why dont you select jap version from here and install rather than from cd http://forums.minidisc.org/index.php?showtopic=9586 I bought a japanese A8xx and installed sonicstage (that came with it ) on english xp and english vista, everything works fine. and your problem is mostly to do with fonts, why dont you take help from some of your jap colleagues...

sony has 16GB player in A9 series, but jap only. I dont think there is any great demand to pay hefty amount for 32GB of flash!!

India is no exemption. having so many outlets across the country, they are still unable to catch up apple interms of availability. sony shd have in mind that nokia's india market is bigger than its us market, as simple as that. I think products sold in developing countries is by some one from "sony overseas", They will find the most expensive model in japan market and put extra premium charge on it to sell in developing countries. If I compare those prices to japan or us it will be too ridiculous. I remember few months ago sony selling ps3 for more than 1000 dollars in India, while everybody in japan was crying about 500 dollars. I understand there is an import duty, but it is not so much.

NW-A805 is not 'drag and drop' only the current NWZ-A8XX devices are 'drag and drop'. they look similar though.

I guess presently there is no software ! but if you are unaware, the current NWZ-A8XX devices are 'drag and drop', which works on any os. No sonicstage nothing !!

the power of s7 is in its equalizer, play around different settings and you can customize it to a wide range. I have set to heavy and VPT studio ON....I am lovin it. Preloaded settings is bit soft, I was not much happy until I used above settings.... I wud recommend using NC on, once u get use to it u will never go back. S7 is the undisputed king of music.

You can format the device, by selecting thru control panel in the menu. This will delete all your data, but will surely restore the device to normal condition. there is a small pinhole in the backside of device to reset, you can try that as well.

Good point, thank you. Adding some kind of inexpensive touch sensor could solve this problem. But it is getting complex, isn't it ? Sure that is a simpler solution. Following standards may not always give room for innovation. I like my s703 for its integrated noise cancelling capability, excellent innovation yet proprietary. And I guess this will rank among one of the most useful innovation in otherwise gimmicks dominated DAP market. Thanks for your feedbacks. Nice points.

How many times we have seen people falling asleep while listening to their walkman.be it in airplane,bus or train. Having music on right in your ears is a kind of irritation for many(if not all). How about a walkman(any dap ofcourse) which detects if you are asleep and slowly turns down the music. Add noise cancelling to this and you will be able to have a peacefull sleep. The system will also detect when you are awake and start your music again. After getting this idea(if I can call so), I googled and found this patent(http://www.freepatentsonline.com/4297685.html) filed long ago in the late 70s. According to this patent,The brain temperature drops by 0.5 degree celsius when you are sleep which can be used for sleep detection. This drop in temperature can be measured by having some minuscule thermometer kind of thing added to your headphones, which will send the data to your music player. This data can be used by processor inside walkman to turn on/off the player. I dont know how ridiculous/silly/unnecessary this idea sounds, but please let me know your thoughts(drawbacks,usefulness,uselessness...). Patent is obviuosly not mine but integrating that with a music player is 100% mine and so all rights reserved If I can claim so :) (disclaimer: I did not go through the patent in detail, I could be wrong as well)

for 60,000 yens(original ps3 price) you can have both new ps3 and a new ps2....for 100% ps2 compatibility.... new ps3 is a good stuff for ppl who already own ps2(most of them who demand 100% compatibility) and also new buyers who dont care much abt ps2(like me)

watch out, apple will soon shut out all those options, recently they attempted blocking some linux s/w in one of the firmware updates If i have to use some third party stuff, how is ipod the holiest out-of-the-box ? Shinji, The Digital to analog converter inside the SoC(system on chip)(simply processor for many) is one important factor, some careful selection of vendor is needed on this front. Apart from that, music settings like clear bass/equalizer all comes thru software, which needs lot of statistics and research about human hearing.

sound quality is not just another parameter for me, that is the only parameter I look for. new walkman experience can be summarized as dragDropRock, where as ipod is tied to proprietary stuff. iTunes has got hell lot of problems, and the count seems to grow faster... The ipod is stuck in some long past...still no drag and drop, and more than that apple is not even ready to embrace the free world......booooo!!! And in comparison my SE phone has better sound quality than the ipod.
