  1. Ishiyoshi, is there a FULL download of 3.4 around?
  2. before I download SS 3.4 - can you make playlists on VAIO from your PC/VAIO? This is an old problem for me since I want to be able to create playlists in the VAIO based on tracks ALREADY in the VAIO. (becasue Sony stupidly copys and DUPLICATES the same track over to the VAIO if you make a new playlists based on songs already in the Vaio). Can SS 3.4 do this? ps..can I have a link to gripe to sony about this if it is not fixed in 3.4? THANKS
  3. Hey Vovo. I sent you that Vaio 03GINF22.DAT thru this sites pm service - did it help at all at unlocking the playlist problem in the VAIO - or at least possibly create playlist and have them show up as GROUPS since VAIO does not actually have playlists...only bookmarks (which did not work with GYM either). If you did not get the 03GINF22.DAT file please pm me here with yoru email and Ican send it or any other vaio dat files to you. kindly thanks, b
  4. thanks for clearing that up Vovo....and maybe Gabiramos may get lucking in tricking the Vaio to read playlists as groups
  5. Sorry Vovo but a bit confused. Are you saying with the above diagram that using playlist under Vaio is possible thru the covers. I thoughtthe cover were just album jackets (jpg) so how could I give it a title?? Like "Bongos's best palylist 4" or "Music I listen to when really sad about my sony and drm playlist"?
  6. Just an update on the 1.12 beta with my Vaio pocket Works good except the bookmark and playlist feature does not work. 1) When I create a PLAYLIST in Gym and then try to listen to it in the Vaio it does notshow up at all. Perhaps it is because there is no "Playlist" category in the Vaio but I was hoping it may appear under "GROUP" category - however no such luck 2) When I add songs to the BOOKMARK sections (1 thru 5) in GYM and then attempt to view then im the vaio they do not appear at all. Regardless thanks for your work X- you are the man! But I do not think the Vaio with playlists based in the player in my fantasy will ever be a reality. Cheers
  7. thank you - that is EXACTLY what i wanted! looks like no one in North america sells it....EU only... vancouver bc
  8. any advance on the topic of enabling GYM to create playlists in the sony player BASED on songs/mp3s in the sony player? that is assuming that is a topic in the first place LOL
  9. so can someone clear this up for me once and for all...I have a ton of songs on the vaio pocket and want to make playlists based on those songs. HOWEVER, some of the playlists have the SAME song in them - get it? For example 30 playlists can actually have beethoven's 5th occur 3 times....it has been my experience that if you want to create/transfer those 30 playlists to your portable player (vaio in mycase) THEN sony will copy beethoven's 5th THREE TIMES. Is there anyway to avoid this waste of space? On an old player I had (non sony) I could make playlists on the PC while connected to player and make multiple playlists where songs would be repeated but NOT copied over 3 times. I understand this may be a problem relating to sony's digital rights obsession...but seriously...it's bizarre...you can copy the same 10 megabyte mp3 song onto the vaio pocket TEN TIMES over. Sony seems to rename the file into the incoherent omg ignoring the fact it is the SAME tune. This has been a dilemma for me for a while because I like to make new playlists which encompass both new and existing mp3 tracks... can anyone provide some light?
  10. can i make/buy a battery (AAs) powered ac substitute for a vaio pocket? you know, instead of plugging it into a ac outlet...i can maybe have 4 battery AA with a connector to attach to the vaio pocket? reason behind the concept so you could take the vaio poct camping or whatever and use AAs to charge it...
  11. i'm still dreaming of the ultimate features to GYM 1) CREATE playlists via GYM based on the music ALREADY in your sony player!!!! 2) Add tracks 3) Remove tracks 4) World Peace Happy Holidays all. and bragado!!!!!!
  12. Any advance on the ability to create playlists via GYM on the actual player (so as to not duplcate songs)?
  13. My DREAM addition to GYM would be this: MULTIPLE PLAYLIST CREATED VIA the computer. I don't understand why it's so hard - since you can make 5 playlists on the vaio pocket itself for example (on the fly which is a pain)...there must be something which is created in the files/folders to reflect the 5 playlists...so can't it theoretically be accessed and increased?
  14. sorry for being stupid; but how do I create a playlist from the vaio pocket? do i delete my library in SS full of music from my hard drive? If I "drag" the files from the vaoi to the library it deletes them from the vaio...AND i do no't think i know how to use the dynamic playlist feature...it does not seem to want to be able to create a simple playlist of songs...grrr
  15. Please help since it's one of the things which make me frustrated with the Vaio. (I am also having a difficult time articulating my dilemma since english is not my first language). I have over 6000 songs on my Vaio in the genre/artist/album/etc id3 categories. But sometimes I like to mix the songs up and make new playlists - combining mp3s from different areas to suit a new mood (like life - things change). Now I with my old mp3 player you could just load songs from the player via winamp and save the playlists (under new names) and then have those multiple playlists accessed the mp3s in the player. Cool, eh. BUT if I want to make new "playlists" in the Vaio it needs to copy the ENTIRE mp3 over in a new "group". This is bad since generally I am making a playlist of songs ALREADY in the vaio and it is taking up more hardrive space by multiple COPYING of the mp3s -rather then just creatign playlists. Is there ANYWAY to do custom and multiple playlists in the VAIO? thanks ps..the playlist on the fly thing is way too time consuming to make playlists - it really needs to be done from the PC. p2...still trying to wrap my head around SS 3.3 dynamic playlists but can't figure if it can make multiple use of existing mp3s on the vaio pocket
  16. xispe - is there anyway to ADD/REMOVE songs to your atrac based player via GYM?
  17. Love that GYM works with Vaio pocket! THANK YOU!!! Ony thing and please be patient if I am unclear - when I play/listen music thru GYM it sounds garbled and then crashes giving this message (long) but it seems to blame the mcmpgdec.dll which I replaced in system32 folder but still same problem.: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-16"?> <DATABASE> <EXE NAME="GYM.exe" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_PRIVACY"> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="CodeTable.dll" SIZE="16384" CHECKSUM="0xCF06363C" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME=" " FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="CodeTable.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="CodeTable.dll" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="Common.dll" SIZE="16384" CHECKSUM="0x1E6ECF0C" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME=" " FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="Common.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="Common.dll" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:41" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:41" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="CSSound.dll" SIZE="16384" CHECKSUM="0x856AA32" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME=" " FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="CSSound.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="CSSound.dll" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.410" LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:41" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:41" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="GYM.exe" SIZE="131072" CHECKSUM="0x590267C6" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME=" " FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="GYM.exe" INTERNAL_NAME="GYM.exe" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x1" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="Interop.QuartzTypeLib.dll" SIZE="18944" CHECKSUM="0x912A632B" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.0.0" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.0.0" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.0.0" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME="Assembly imported from type library QuartzTypeLib" FILE_VERSION="1.0.0.0" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="Interop.QuartzTypeLib.dll" INTERNAL_NAME="Interop.QuartzTypeLib" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x2" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.0.0" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.0.0" LINK_DATE="11/12/2005 14:44:11" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/12/2005 14:44:11" VER_LANGUAGE="Invariant Language (Invariant Country) [0x7f]" /> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="KeyWizard.exe" SIZE="249856" CHECKSUM="0x28FAEEBD" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" FILE_DESCRIPTION=" " COMPANY_NAME=" " PRODUCT_NAME=" " FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" ORIGINAL_FILENAME="KeyWizard.exe" INTERNAL_NAME="KeyWizard.exe" LEGAL_COPYRIGHT=" " VERFILEDATEHI="0x0" VERFILEDATELO="0x0" VERFILEOS="0x4" VERFILETYPE="0x1" MODULE_TYPE="WIN32" PE_CHECKSUM="0x0" LINKER_VERSION="0x0" UPTO_BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" UPTO_BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.0.2152.411" LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" UPTO_LINK_DATE="11/22/2005 00:13:42" VER_LANGUAGE="Language Neutral [0x0]" /> </EXE> <EXE NAME="mcmpgdec.dll" FILTER="GRABMI_FILTER_THISFILEONLY"> <MATCHING_FILE NAME="MCMpgDec.dll" SIZE="520192" CHECKSUM="0x9C47A347" BIN_FILE_VERSION="1.1.1.48" BIN_PRODUCT_VERSION="1.1.1.48" PRODUCT_VERSION="1.1.1.48 2004/10/04" FILE_DESCRIPTION="MPEG Stream Decoder" COMPANY_NAME="Ulead Systems, Inc." 18. has anyone tried to uninstal??? does it work..no DRM then?? l ...i read the sony was offering users to crack the DRM software via their support line... http://www.engadget.com/entry/1234000413047159/ " Sony BMG has come up with an innovative solution for consumers who are frustrated with the company’s new DRM: They’ll help you break it. Turns out the new system, from the U.K.’s First4Internet, renders protected CDs unusable by iPod owners. While Sony might hope that would drive customers to its digital audio players instead, they’ve chosen the more pragmatic — and unusual — route of emailing instructions for a back door exploit to anyone who complains about the problem (Mac users don’t even need this: the DRM is PC-only)"
  19. "Is it possible to create playlists now on my vaio pocket? for example multiple playlists that use multiple songs based on the pocket and NOT the PC. AND Is it possible to drag and drop a FOLDER (with mp3s in it) using vaio music transfer and keep the name of the folder accessible in vaio pocket?" anyone??
