  1. First off I am a newb! Second...my old mp3 player allowed me to simple drag and drop mp3s into the player and create playlists (in winamp) if i wanted to organize them in playlist manner. Now I know things are different with sony but I am openminded. First question: 1. I have only mp3s (about 8000) and don't want to convert them to atrac. My mp3s are a mess in terms of id tags which is why i liked my old method of just making winamp playlists... the vaio pocket seems to organize by genre/album/artist (which I believe are mp3 tag based)...soooo... can i just create a folder called "classical" somehow in sonicstage and have the folder recognized in the pocket? Will sonic automatically convert them to atrac (which i do not want)? 2. the vaio transfer program just lets me drag and drop mp3 songs...but how does it know what folder i want it dropped into? Say I have a pre-existing classical folder...how will it drop the mp3 into that? thanks for any help.
  2. would it not be simpler to just connect the vaio/whatever via the usb2 port on the laptop/pc you intend to transfer files to?
  3. can you use the vaio pocket 40gb as a pocket drive? what i mean is if I transfer some data (docs, zips, etc) onto the vaio packet...can i then take the pocket to a friends computer and simply drag and drop the non music data onto his pc? also...if you have your mp3s on your vaio pocket can you just transfer them to another pc/laptop??
  4. I originally bought the Vaio Pocket due to the great 20 hr battery life but I see now it discharges even when not used. You see I use it for sailing trips which last sometime a couple of weeks (no ac outlet). I was hoping to use the vaio for it listening to music hear and there...but i see now this won't happen since the drainage occurs even when the battery is OFF.... do i give up on the vaio? or is there any tech trick to really turn off the unit...apart from tearing out the battery every time...
