freddyjollo thanks, that first link is no good broken or something. the second link really was no help at all. i have tried many many pre-recorded discs (my own) and one commercial pre-recorded disc. none of them work and produce the same message "TOC ERRORa" so it looks like the unit is trash huh. oh well.

someone please tell me what TOC ERRORa means? ANYONE PLEASE????

It's been a few decades since I've used my Sharp MS702 and I've discovered a problem. When I insert a known good recorded disc it will show that everything is ok, ie: volume, bass, etc. Then it shows it's reading the TOC after a moment it shows "TOC ERRORa" and stops and shuts down. Can someone help me please? If you need more info just let me know and I'll try to accomodate. Yes I said a few decades Is there no one who can help me? At least tell me what "TOC ERRORa" means?
