  1. Thanks for the interest MDX-400. It only does this when on battery power - I agree it's a weird error message to give when the only juice is from the battery that it claims is not there! As an update, I replaced the Sony battery with a generic compatible one and the problem has not recurred since then. Given this, I suspect that the original battery was faulty, which is disappointing seeing as it's only a little over a year old.
  2. Hi all This is a great forum and I have lurked here many times in the past, picking up tips for my HD5 and related stuff. Now I have a reason for posting my own query, I've checked the search function and cannot find anything for this, so apologies if it's a repost... I've had my NW-HD5 for over a year, and in recent weeks it has started to display a "battery is missing" error and then shut off. When restarted it resumes play as normal most of the time. This fault is intermittent, and does not seem to occur for any reason - ie. the player has not been knocked etc. The error suggests that the battery pickups/sensor are registering the fault, but has anyone else had this problem, or know a reason or solution for it? Thanks in advance for any help! Kind regards Bill
  3. MP3FM has (to this point) worked really well with my NW-HD5, and certainly eases the SonicStage pain. However, when I've tried to drag and drop a couple of fairly large single mp3 files recently (70+MB) it seems to DRM encode and transfer them as normal, but then the files do not play...They're visible in MP3FM's display screen and on the player, but when I play the file the timer stays at 00:00 or just jumps around, with occasional bursts of static rather than the track playing. Weird. Any ideas what might be causing this?
