I know I'm a bit of a neeeeewb, but I dont see much chat on teh 200 series, despite them being a very cool device for the right person! So how come? and what do people think of the range? Bueller

These will replace the old E00* series and will feature a very VERY similar screen (if im not mistaken) to the current NW-S700 series will should attract people who want a small simple cheap mp3 flash player. I can provide some more info soon if its wanted?

Sorry, but infact I am actually referring to the AVLS, which can be switched on or off. You seem to have the right idea when comparing to the Samsung there, as there is plenty volume in the NW-S700 and any more seriously does start to make you think it could cause damage? When you are looking at the technology in the 700 series, it doesnt need to be loud to be better. It has superior sound quality due to the clear audio and the noise cancelling technology. *EDIT* Back ontopic, you gotta love the drag and drop feature for videos, this should avoid any previous mishaps with certain software *end EDIT* Bueller

A good test to perform is to listen to a range of full quality audio formats/files etc. So begin with a Music DVD or SACD, then try a CD (obviously going down in quality very slightly..) and then try atrac and mp3. For those without a SACD or Music DVD then just try a cd then a ripped version of the track on e.g cd as a mp3 and atrac. trust me there is a considerable difference! Even to the average perosn on the average player. The song commonly used throughout tests at work are 'mona lisas and mad hatters' re done by 'heart'. very good example. Many Thanks Bueller

Don't know if ive missed the point here but WHY!?? The battery life is 50hours!!! and still more than most things on the market even with noise cancelling activated! Why do you need anything else lol, otherwise 3min 3hour quick charge just tops it off nicely and yeah, if the battery does die im sure it will be when people have mp3 implants or something hahaha and it will be old-hat

The capping system has changed now after the release of the NWS700, to which they changed the volume limiting settings from previous generalised european models. It was capped due tyo legislation in france (obviously to protect hearing!) and then put sony Mp3 players at a diadvantage just because they use the euro model which has to be french law obiding. So with the nws 700 they actually had an option to turn it on or off on the UK model, but i cant remember what the rest fo europe did, wither it was one model made for the uk or one model made ot fit french law and everyone else got louder sound!!!
