  1. Sorry about the double thread, I just thought it would be the fastest way to get an answer! lol
  2. yeah it is a new computer, so basically I have no music whatsoever on this comp. Sorry for basically making the same topic in two forums, but I am in quite the bind, and if I ever want to get the majority of my music back without having to re rip or re download, I need some major help in advice on this mp3fm subject. if anyone has any ideas please let me know! thanks.
  3. *edit* I think the best program for me to use in this case is "Grab Your Music", but in order to use it I have to install mp3fm on my device. Is this just a simple drag and drop thing, and if I install it will it reformat my entire library? I am very fearful of this.
  4. Hey we got the same walkman. have you ever got into the situation that I am in?

  5. Sorry if my origional post was not very clear. I have a sony NW A808 walkman, windows vista ultimate 32 bit, and all my music was transfered with sonic stage.
  6. Alright I have a sony NWA 808. It has mostly mp3 files on it that were transfered by SONICSTAGE. I need some help finding the safest way to transfer these mp3s onto my computer without risk of loosing them alltogether. I would be very greatful if someone where to help me with some sort of a mini guide or even a program that works for my OS. I have Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit. Please help. Thanks in advance.
  7. Okay so my roomate left the stove on a few weeks ago, and our condo burned to the ground. I couldn't really salvage anything except for my walkman. Now that I have a new computer, is there any way to transfer all my tunes from the walkman to the hard drive, so I can play them? PS> I mean transfer them in their origional files, not OMA which is only playable in sonic stage. any help would be greatly appreciated.

    NWD-B100 announced

Well I guess this player would have been cool 2 years ago...But seriously, with that low battery life and only supporting two formats, what does it have going for it besides price?
  9. Well if I understand you correctly, I think that what you are doing is sort of a lost cause, seeing as how the player you have does not support lossless. However, you can convert the files directly to ATRAC3PULUS, which has great sound quality and an even smaller file size than mp3. I remember in my old sony NW walkman was 2 gb and I could fit around 100 songs in atrac. Even though the sound quality was less than perfect, I found the bass was highs were better than Mp3 at 128kb/s, the only thing lacking were the mid-tones. But keep in mind that this is all from personal experience, so personally I would reccomend that you compress your files rather than trying to get the best sound quality on a device with 1-2 gb of space.
  10. So I have been getting into lossless music lately, (bought a 100gb HDD (1Terabyte)), and I am a little cheesed that this player doesn't play FLAC. I have been BURNING FLAC CD's and then ripping them into AAL, but people are saying that you can convert FLAC to WAV, and then WAV to AAL. It would seem to me that there would be some signifigant quality loss in this process, because AAL isn't just a file container, it is a codec all on it's own if I am not mistaken. So, I am able to RIP music into WAV with WMP11 which I really like, but does anyone know if the NWA 808 can play WAV files. (I would try it but I am on vacation). Thanks in advance
  11. I think this question has been asked before because I don't know why else I would have pirated a program called sound forge. Now does anyone know if there is quality loss in the conversion, or how to even do the conversion? Much help would be appreciated. thanks.
  12. AH that is so sad, although I can relate to that. Sometimes I wear these behind the neck headphones and lanyard that only goes to about my chest. So sometimes i will be sitting on the toilet listening to tunes or watching something and I will be like, "this can't be a good idea". At which point I just hold the player in my right hand and continue with the wiping process. Now, about your problem, I really don't think that all hope is lost. I used to have an 8gb Ipod nano which went through a wash cycle in the machine (with bleach) and it also went through the dryer for about 20 minutes until I found it there. This was pretty much horrifying but I tried to be optimistic about it, since I really wanted one of the sony video walkmans. To this day the nano still works, because I have had lots of water damaged electronics in the past, (phones, players etc), and the best thing for it is to not touch it at all and let it completely dry. You may have to just get a new one because Sony's support is kind of so-so. peace
