  1. Ah thanks for explaining. I always thought that converting from one format to another would have some sort of consequence. Most of my songs are in WMA format. But still i'm listening to my walkman in the car via a Plug in FM transmitter. So i always lose a lil quality. anways im wandering off the point here....sorry **EDIT** Just on that note, What is the difference between ATRAC 3 and ATRAC? they're my two options for sending songs to my walkman or else just send in original format. but i know what that is. Just wondering about the differece on the two above also which is best? (if both at same rate kb/s)
  2. Ah right thanks for all your help. Would have been nice to have something other than the usual splash screen come up on start up!
  3. Lossy format? Just my battery is pretty crap. I use it when i'm driving. Might consider buyin a cigarette lighter charger for it. thanks
  4. I have a NW A-1000, Using mostly 132 kb/s ATRAC3. I heard to increase battery life you must be using around 48Kb/s. Is there any way i can convert the songs already on my player or will ihave to wipe the whole device and start from scratch? Will there be a signifigant difference in sound quality? as i usually have the player running into some sort of speaker system... I'm using sonic stage 4.3 any help/ideas welcome
  5. a bit of confusion. my fault for not making it more clear. I meant this link here: http://www.atraclife.com/downloads/files.php?cat=11 is that for the start up splash screen??
  6. found in downloads section...... is this the start up screen thing that usually says 'every moment has its music'? I'm talking about NW A-1000. How do i install these if thats the case?
  7. ah help!!! i done de hack ages ago thankfully from reading this. i updated to firmware 3.00 and checked. thankfuly still there!!! but..... i changed from connect to sonicstage there and well i went to check but couldnt find 'SP set' instead i pressed the wrong thing and ended up blasting my ears using a tester i think. i hope my hearing stops ringing soon lol anyway, anyone else have this prob?
  8. i also would have the hold button be enabled with unit off im sure some firmware could definatley change the function of the hold button. i figure i lose at least 40% battery due to accidentally switching the unit on all the time in my pocket. also the artist section in music library should play the artists songs and then continue to/or have option to play on whatever else you were listening to. the 'recen transfers' should allow you to access the song and play as if you searched the 'all songs' section of library
  9. hey i think i may be in the wrong thread so if someody could direct me.... anyways im changing from connect player to sonic stage CP 4.something (sorry cant remember). will i have to re sync my NW-A1000 and set a new library up? should i uninstall connect first. And lastly will my walkman still have full features? i had Sonicstage before and had to wipe my walkman's hardive.
  10. ok i got de first cover off (in my case a see through cover) but it was already damaged now it comes off by just touching off it. this is annoying. any ideas? anyone know where i can get a replacement?
