np... does anyone know if there's anyway one can find out whether or not best buy would get a certain item? (Namely, the silver 608? )

usually it costs a percentage of the price of the product... when i bought my hd1, it was 500 bux for the player and the 3 yr warranty was nearly 90 bux

it doesn't matter if sony authorizes it or not. It's part of best buy's plan which i pay extra money for. After the manufacturer's 1 yr is up they will send your item out to the depot where they would attempt to fix it. Sometimes they might order a battery from sony and replace the battery. But since over 3 years you can get a fresh battery each year, the policy also has a no-lemon portion which means after 3 times of service they replace your item. I've heard numerous people get replacements on first try or an eventual replacement

I like bestbuy's extention warranty (product performance plan). It covers built in batteries so it's pretty much a free upgrade in 3 years

yeah i'm curious too... do you think bb will get a hold of the silver 608's or should i jump on the purple ones while it's still available

Hrm are the A608's really sonystyle exclusive in Canada? I just recieved today's BestBuy flyer as well as checked their website and it seems they are carrying the violet 608's... I wonder (hope they do) if they will get the silver ones
