well whatever was wrong with it, i seem to have sorted it by deleteing all the files using the sonicstage software and reloading all the music files back into it again. not quite sure why it went wrong in this case, but all's well that ends well, i suppose!

Hi, bought my wife this fairly good sony digital walkman a litle while back. managed to get quite a few cds loaded onto it. did not use it in ages and have tried to re-use it lately. i have tried to delete the old music files and load some new ones which r required. i contantly get 'file error' message appearing on LCD screen of digi player and when clicking for file lists i get 'unknown' showing in every field. i have tried updateing the drivers to no avail.... can anyone tell me what is wrong with this equipment and how i can get it working normally again.. thank you.
