Thanks for the replies. I just received an offer locally for a new Sony NW-A1000 6GB for $150 Canadian. Should I go ahead and buy it? Or just wait for the recently announced A800. Also, I suppose that I would be eligible for any sort of warranty from Sony, correct? Even though the item is brand new

Alright, thanks for the info guys

I checked Futureshop and Best Buy already. They don't have them anymore. There's no London Drugs where I live. Too bad they are discontinuing them because these players look amazing. I'll try searching on craiglist, but I'm hoping to find a new one.

I can't find this anywhere. eBay seems like the only choice, but it's really expensive. Anyone know where I can get a decent deal on this player in Canada? Is this item discontinued? If I were to buy one now and I needed to use the warranty, will Sony honour it? Thanks

Thanks for the info. So what program works with the NW-S205? I remember back when I had a NW-E407, MP3 File Manager was much better than the SonicStage software.

Regarding about the sleep mode, what I meant to say was, does the player fully turn off when you turn it off? Or when you turn it off, it goes into sleep mode, so that it boots up faster when you turn it on again.

I have a question about the sony nw-s205 2gb player before I go and buy it. I was reading some cnet comments and some guy said you can't turn off the player. Is this true? I used to own an iRiver and when I turned off the player, it would go into sleep mode draining battery, which I didn't like. So for the NW-S205, when you turn it off, does it fully turn off (does not use battery)? Or does it go into sleep mode? Also, does MP3 File Manager work with this device?

SonyStyle.ca seems to be the only place in Canada that are carrying these devices. I was wondering if there are other places selling them, but less than MSRP. Futureshop and Best Buy don't have them either.

Hey, I received it yesterday and gave it a try. It actually caused more scratches lol, so in other words, I regret using it and I just wasted $10. Check my other thread about where to buy a replacement plastic cover. However, I may have applied/used it wrong, but I gave it a try on a number of other acrylic/plastic products I owned, but they didn't remove any scratches. So I don't recommend it. Though, you can give it a try, you may have better luck than I did.

This is definitely a sweet find. I am currently awaiting an e-mail from them about shipping information. I will let you know the details, that's if I get a reply.

Thanks for the info. I found a website that sells the part, but I don't even know if it ships to Canada. It's going to cost $22 USD. http://jandr.partsearch.com/default.asp

Do replacement covers exist for this product? What I am referring to is the plastic covering of the device that has the Walkman logo on it. Thanks in advance.

Mine did the same thing, but I realized that after playing around with the device a bit, I didn't choose Search/Menu Button > Group > All Group. With that done, it now goes to the next folder/group I made. I'd say that it's more of an error on Sony's part for not explaining it better in the manual

I just bought some Displex off eBay. I'll let you guys know how well it works once I received and have used it.
