  1. You can download the Canadian version of SonicStage 4.0 here: http://esupport.sony.com/CA/perl/swu-downl...168&os_id=7I got that link by looking up my model number (which is a hard-drive Walkman), though. You can look up your model number to get the right SonicStage version for your Walkman here: http://esupport.sony.com/CA/
  2. Hopefully Australia will get these new earphones, too!
  3. ATRAC still matters to me. It's the only format my NW-HD1 will accept for playback.
  4. Oh. He said that there was a small gap, so I thought he mightn't have plugged it in properly. . . Did you try the headphones with another player/a computer? If the left one still doesn't work, then your earphones are broken . . .
  5. You can always download a version of SonicStage that doesn't have Connect music store installed. The Canadian and Asia-Pacific versions are the only ones I know (as I had installed them previously) that don't have Connect music store built into the program.
  6. I think you didn't plug in your headphones properly. Was the headphone plug firmly plugged into the headphone jack?
  7. No idea, besides the pedometer and calorie thingyo. Which is why I would pick the NWE-00x series over the NW-S20x series, were I to buy a flash-drive based Walkman. Edit: Maybe 'cause it's waterproof? O.O
  8. *laughs* I like eating strawberry-related food, not strawberry-coloured electronics! *squints* It doesn't look too bad . . . but the knob could be a lighter shade of silver. . . .I'd pick black over pink anyday, though. Black looks hot. And hides dirt. xD No colour-coordinated earphones for the pink and silver ones in Japan? O.O And I thought you get those . . . *can't remember name* earphones that are like the MDR-EX81s, minus the silicon earbuds.
  9. Sony Australia's been offering My Sony members the oppportunity to pre-order the new Sports Walkmans. Only 100 of each model are available, (and the 1GB version one of each colour - silver and black) and shipping starts on the 18th of September.
  10. Yeah, but when you buy a Sony Walkman with a version of SonicStage, there's a good chance that the CD you got in the box will be useless, as there's a new version on the Internet, which takes time to download. I remember in the good old days before I got broadband that it took like 2 hours to download SonicStage from the Internet.Guess Sony India/the local store wanted to save consumers' time (not to mention download data limits) by supplying a CD with the latest version of SonicStage.
  11. Guess they took out all the Connect Player CDs out of the box, then downloaded SonicStage CP and burnt it onto a CD-R. . . .
  12. Nah, the NW-HD5 has playlists. One of the reasons why I almost swapped my 'malfunctioning' NW-HD1 for the NW-HD5 (long story). But they only had one colour, and that was Red. So I kept my NW-HD1. Hmm . . . you can't buy the NW-A3000 from Sony Style online. I wouldn't be surprised if I could still find one in a shop, though. They still have the NW-HD1 for sale at a local Dick Smith.
  13. Paid another visit to the Sony Central shop in the city today - no NW-A3000s to be seen.
  14. I was checking the Sony Australia website to see if they had the MDR-EX90s for sale, and they did. The price? $199AUD! O.O I'd rather spend an extra $60 and get the MDR-NC11AB noise cancelling earphones. " For some reason, you get a warranty card with the MDR-EX90SL . . .
  15. See if someone else's computer can access the drive, then copy the contents to a couple of DVDs or something? O.O
  16. You could try and copy all the music files from your player (assuming that you haven't initialised your player and thus wiped out your entire music collection) to your laptop's hard drive, then import them into My Library, then initialse your player so that the hard drive's empty, then transfer them to the player . But the catch is, the files on your NW-HD1 have to be DRMless (i.e. no copy protection). And you're gonna have a bunch of letters and numbers as the file name.
  17. That happened to me once. While transferring tracks to my NW-HD1, I accidentally knocked it down to the floor mid-transfer. Apart from getting dust and scratches, the 'No Database Found' message cropped up, despite the fact that I had (according to Windows Explorer) a few hundred tracks in there. Unfortunately (in your case) I had to initialise the player, then transfer all my tracks in My Library to the player again. So the only thing you can do is initialise your player, then transfer tracks to the player again. One more point. It's a good idea to back up your Library before you upgrade your version of SonicStage, so the Libary doesn't go all corrupted.
  18. I've seen the MDR-NX1 in the Sony Pulse magazine, but I don't think the earphone plug cord is long enough for my NW-HD1 so that I can use the neck strap to hold it. There's a good 6 or so centimetres between the headphone jack and the wrist strap hole (not to mention that when you put it in its fabric case, the wrist strap hole is covered, as it's on a different side to the headphone jack). I think I'll stick to getting the MDR-EX51s. Thanks for all your advice, bogon07.
  19. O.O All my music's in Atrac3plus 64kbps. And not all my music are on CDs.
  20. Ah, OK then. Thanks bogon07! I can get a pair for $70 at JB Hi-Fi. . . but the only problem I have with the MDR-EX51LP is that their origin of production, which is China. O.O I don't want to spend $70 on earphones that's made in China . . . Oh well. *shrugs* I'll go shopping this weekend and see.
  21. No problem. I have a lot of dance music, which sounds much more better played gaplessly. Espeically Ministry Of Sound CDs. I wouldn't mind an ATRAC bit torrent site.
  22. You can disable it. When you're converting your MP3 file, the box pops up asking you what file format and bitrate you want, right? And underneath that, there's an option called 'Add copy protection after completing conversion'. By unchecking that box, your converted MP3s, etc. will be DRMless OMAs.
  23. *cry* My earphones broke last night. The plug end got pulled on as I was carrying , and now the left ear doesn't work anymore. >.< Although I have two other pairs that work perfectly fine, I want to get in-ear ones. I've heard that the cord of the Sony MDR-EX51/71 disintergrates, though. O.O I tend to put my earphones inside my clothes, to prevent it from being caught on anything (and also to prevent some nutcase from stealing it and ripping it out of my ears) and my Walkman and excess cord in my pocket, so would it be a problem for me?
  24. You'll be able to use it on your computer. You just won't be able to transfer tracks that were transferred into your player from someone's computer back to your computer.
