My HD3 had lock-up problems when switching on, the problem was intermittent but still annoying! I only had it for a month. I sent the player to Sonys UK service center as they requested, they re-flashed the firmware and returned the unit back to me in perfect condition. I have had no problems since and have owned my HD3 for 8 months now. My unit is not in the serial No range with power problem, it just had a fault.
