  1. Hi, I had similar problem with my NH1 with standard MDs formatted to HiMD, the recording was corrupted and it said "AuFileErr". I can't remeber exactly now, but i think it only happened with HiSP mode. But one day on a concert I was made some recordings on HiMD disc in PCM, and after pressing STOP , the disc didn't stop, until i removed power. The disc was totally empty, i examined its contents byte for byte and all were zero. At the service, they told me it is faulty board and gave me new unit. It's about a half a year, the device seems to be well. M>
  2. Hi, try to remove the disc and then insert it again. BTW in the past I had received this message because of bad unit and only with Hi-MD mode on standard MDs. 1GB disc were OK. In the service center they told me it was some failure on hardware, unrepairable and gave me another unit. This new one is without problems now. From those times I have some recorded materials waiting for some smart recover utility..:-) M.
  3. To LV: "I transfered to the PC once but I accidentially deleted the file. I still have the Hi-MD but SonicStage doesn't allow me to transfer it again." are you sure LV? it seems to be *.oma
  4. Try HiMD_xtract, look for it in the forums.

    Soaked Nh1

Hi, something like this happened to me a year ago with my MZ-N1. I was recording sounds from nature, forest, and there was a stream. When I walked over, the carrying case fell off my belt directly into the water. The unit was also running. It was within a second I grasped the device and pulled out the battery. At home I opened the unit and dried it up intensively. After several attempts when it still worked badly the ressurection was succesful and the unit is OK till now. The carrying pouch was Sony original, I use it no more and rather make one myself, a little bit robust. In my case the water wasn't salted but I think if it doesn't change/damage the components or circuits inside, it is theoretically possible after perfect cleaning make the device running again. I have no experience about and I don't advice you to throughout splash the device with a lot of non-salted water to remove short-circuits. :-) If anything other will be useless.... have a luck! MA
