Okay, I'm going to record some concerts for a documentary. The consensus seems to be Sharp is the best for field work. The only one I can really find is the SR60S. Even without a USB it looks pretty good. That one I'll either use a mic or patch straight from the soundboard. I'm also thinking about the Sony R707 for either mic or soundboard. Here's my question, and it's a basic one: are the discs from the two players interchangable, meaning can I record on the SR60S but play back on the R707? BP

Thanks all for the responses. Here's the problem: I'd go with sharp but really can't find the MD-MT190 in the US. It is listed at superfi.uk. Any difference or problem with European purchase? Also, I've found the R37SP at electroniemall.com for $104. Is that the same as the standard old R37 I hear talked about or is it some remake, reissue or refurb? Thanks again. BP

Sorry, I'm new to this. I'm looking to use minidisc to tape an outdoor concert for a film I'm making. I'm leaning towards the MZ-R37 (heard good things and like the price.) My question: is this thing obsolete? Will it work with XP? Should I go with the MZ-N707? Any answers will help this new guy. BP :oops:
