  1. The function is to 'check in' the file, not to copy the music to your PC. As aeriyn said, it was never designed to do that on NetMD units. Not sure what happened with the file you think transferred over, but if you try to play it I think you'll find you have problems, ie it's not a music file at all...
  2. Just after a bit of clarification before I install SS2 on a new PC. What's the difference between all the versions available? I've managed to gather that iceeedtea's build includes drivers and doesn't include DX9 support(?) - so does the official one not include the NetMD drivers? Also, there are 2 versions on http://connect.com/download.html - is the only difference that the 'standard' version doesn't include audio CD burning? And what disadvantages are there of these versions compared to iceeedtea's one? Sorry if this has all been covered before but I couldn't find a thread summing up the exact differences between all the versions.
  3. Definitely not on the N1, I'd guess not on other units either.
  4. Turns out it was a bit of a false alarm - the problem was with my unit, not with SS2/drivers... I checked the display on the N1 and "PC->MD" wasn't showing as it should have been, and the disc graphic was constantly rotating like it does for a short time when you insert a disk. Took the battery out, left it for ten mins then tried again and all was OK...
  5. Just installed SS2 (from http://www.minidisc.org/download/ss20e/) on a brand new machine, then hooked up my MZ-N1 and it's only being recognised as "unknown USB device". So it doesn't look like SS2 installed the drivers, which I thought it was supposed to?? Not had a chance to install the drivers seperately, will do so this evening, but was wondering why this might have happened?
  6. Thx for the welcome! Yep it's me over there too, it was there I found the link for your SS2.0 "remix" I'll try using it with the NWMS70D after the weekend and let you know how I get on.
  7. Good work on creating this version iceeedtea - I'll be downloading it later to use with my MZ-N1. I'm wondering if it'll work on my girlfriend's NWMS70D too, or will it only work for MD products? We normally use SS1 to copy music over to the NWMS70D but it'd be top if we could use your version for this too.
