  1. ASC2004: I know how the installer works In fact, I'm the one who made both SS 1.5 and 2 "Lite" package back in the days Let me try for myself... (have to do it anyway, ffdshow author can't download it to debug) Edit: Oh, you can also order a CD http://support.connect.com/cdRequest/Sonic...geCDRequest.asp
  2. uh no you don't get it It's downloading a separate installer which is ran afterward
  3. The web installer download a bunch of zip file in the temp folder, decompress then run the setup Once it finish downloading/decompressing, you could try copying these files
  4. I think it's definitively a limitation implemented by Sony (or perhaps a bug?) If you use a hardware renderer, it will play fine until the end But you're right; it has something to do with the reference clock I tried to use TotalRecorder emulated renderer and it wouldn't work either (either at 1x, 4x or max) Not sure if it's using IMediaSeeking::SetRate though Edit: hmm, I can play the whole file with the clock disabled

    Sonic Stage 2.2

SonicStage use whatever DirectShow MP3 decoder installed in your system (with the highest merit of course) Most of us still have the old Fhg v1.5 from 1998 which may have some problems with VBR and doesn't support freeform MP3s (over 320kpbs) Some might have the 1.9 (comes with some codec packs) though Try grabing this DS based decoder based on mpg123 (libmad also available) http://p23.aaacafe.ne.jp/~kanetuki/download.html (Old) Review of MP3 decoders: http://mp3decoders.mp3-tech.org/overall.html
  6. Comes with the DirectX SDK http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/en-us/di...iltersample.asp Just google for wavdest and you should be able to find plently of results Using the regular File Source should also work Btw, did you find out what was the "OMG Seamless" filter for? Edit: One more thing, stop calling it a DOS program, it won't run in DOS, it needs DirectX  It's called a command line/console application This seems interesting: http://forums.minidisc.org/viewtopic.php?t=6229 Can TR renderer bypass the 6x secs limit? Going to test it out... Edit 2: Nop, doesn't work via emulated renderer Even though I managed to record 2 mins by changing my system time (and record at 2x), the sound becomes garbled after 1:06-07 (high pitched noise)
  7. If you have all the updates, you should be pretty fine
  8. This thread is getting quite long, I suggest we make a separate section in this forum or at least close this one and start a new thread Marc should have a separate thread for posting his updates, separated from the the flow of questions So new comers won't have the hassle of going through all 11 pages And Sony won't buy his software, the block limitation is implemented by Sony I tried for myself yesterday (without knowing the existence of this software) in graphedit the following: File source -> OMG TRANSFORM -> WAV Dest -> File Writer And when I pressed play, it will only record up to 63-64secs What the HiMDRenderer do (correct me if I'm wrong) is seek right before it reach the end to reset the internal timer (WINMM.DLL:timeGetTime?) until the file is completely played back Then scan for repeated samples to get rid of them Here's a schematic on how things are connected: Even without the SonyWavWriter, we can still relay on WAV Dest + File Writer The only important filter is OMG TRANSFORM Older, pre SS 2.1, ".omg" files playback with the OpenMG Decrypt Spliter, which refused to let you playback if any file writer is added to the graph Btw Marc, how about using WaveOut on Win9x? I don't think it matters much since all you want is the reference clock but it should be more reliable than DirectSound
  9. Spectral analyse are pretty much useless since the point of a loosy codec is to discard inaudible frequencies... This is why we have ABX listening test
  10. I tried for myseld, using a diode zener of 3.9V (output is around ~2.9 when meseared) Guess what happened? My mobo cut the power of those ports So there's a difference between low-powered USB device (100mA max) and high-power (500mA) Now how can I tell the computer I need 500 and not 100...hmm What diodes did you use?
  11. I was asking myself how it was spelt Getting a Domo-kun keychain and sticker soon
  12. You can't order the LCD alone You have to get the PCB where the LCD is on (which is usualy the front plate with the buttons) Edit: Oh shit, it's Solid Snake
  13. You can however gets a slot-loading MD (Sharp have some of those) Drill a hole in a 5"25 bay, stick in it Power it from a molex connector (you'll have to lower the 5V with a diode or something) Plug the output to your soundcard
  14. There's no hack for it, it's the top of the line (back in the time)
  15. I just sticked a Badtz-maru sticker on the back
  16. Looking at his soldering skill, no? Keep in mind that the USB port can deliver a limited amount of current and try to not overload it
  17. Saves bandwidth for the end user (less KB to download) by making it cacheable and the server ($$?) If you had GZIP on, saves CPU cycles at compressing it on every page view Actually, it's pretty simple, copy the current CSS produced by phpBB and paste into: templates/subTrail/subTrail.css Edit the .tpl file by un-commenting the link and getting rid of the inline CSS
  18. Ok, speed it now better Still haven't put the css into a file?
  19. Can't only blame the software, the hardware is slow too
  20. Hi again skyther, still promoting the 'Pod on MD boards eh ._. Edit: nvm, I just check the AV watch review, 18hours before the indicator start blinking @ 256kpbs
