Just one thing: isnt there a 1 minute maximum on windows sound recorder? I'm sure i was recording some school work a while ago on the lappy and i had to make about 5 separate files each 1 minute long. I might be wrong though....

Are you talking about the spdif out on computer or stereo? but as mAjEsTiC said, check fir the red light it will help you find the problem.

You say you just bought it within the week? Why not take it back rather than selling on ebay? then you can get the 707

If you just format the windoze disk - everythign from there will be erased but your music will be fine. Why not make an image of the drive before formatting? then you can just load the image, everything will be like it was when you made the image and you'll be laughing!

Data storage would be fantastic - what about fuel cells (like NEC have just made for laptops) which provide much longer "battery life" (i say it like that cos fuel cells arent batteries!) I'd like to see Linux NetMD support and...oh! oh! just thought of this! - what about a Portable MD player with screen and the ability for MDs to playback video on the screen! oh! oh! that would be *sweet*

Clockwork powered MD?! Not sure on that one - it would make the MD a lot bigger and...well....batteries are good

I searched google (which wasnt too useful in thie case ) and searched the forum but I can't find ant Sharp MD-MT99 hacks. Does anyone know of any?

Yep I got a couple from Maplins too, they hold 20 (as KJ_Palmer said) but they also fit together either vertically or horizontally which is quite cool, they are also very cheap. I cant find a link right now but Maplin definitely do sell em

I would try with another type of MD - if the problem still persists, its your MD player
