Before i head out and get the RH1, i was just wondering about the HD digital amp. Judging by previous posts made by people about the HD Digital amp, its supposed to make your songs clearer and more detailed. Now, i own an iaudio G3 and it has technologies so called "BBE", "MP" and "Mach3Bass" and they do wonders to the audio to make it more enjoyable, does the HD Digital amp work as well as those, or does it have a different effect on audio playback completely? I have previously owned various MD units without HD Digital amp, they were fine, just didn't have as much bass as the iaudio G3. I use the Audio Tech CM7Ti earbuds and the Alessandro MS-2 headphones.

Sony's website states that it includes a 3-line remote?
-
They're selling them cheap because they need to get rid of excess MD stock. Hardly anyone in Australia wants MD technology, (i see ipod armies everyday T_T), so companies sell MD's cheap to get rid of the stock. For recording, I'd have to go with the NH700.

I was wanting to get the MZ-EH70 Hi-MD player, but i wonder if i should hold out for 2006 players?
-
lol, the co-op bookshops at UTS and University of Sydney still stock the mz-nh900 =P its 450 bucks though
-
so does the RH1 read mp3 id3 tags or...?
-
so the RH1 will be out in australia in june-july? thats fast. And just in time for my birthday (hopefully)
-
while going to the university of sydney today (to get some lecture notes), i went into the co-op bookshop and found discounted Hi-MDs! I believe its 35% off RRP. And they have stock of the supa rare mz-nh900... too bad i can't afford that.. =(
-
i had given up on MD, after my mzr-501 broke after one year and my mzr-900 in 2 years. Then i got my mz-nh1 and its so damn good. Currently deciding whether to get the Sharp MD-DS55 player, or the Sony MZ-E630 player lol.
-
i guess i could... but should i? i just wanted a secondary player/recorder i could take out and wave around in public, although.. meh i guess it doesn't really matter.
-
hmm... but minidisc.com.au only have stock of the mz-nh700 left... i was hoping to get a nh-900 or rh-910 or better =P I guess there aren't many places for me to go

Besides e-shops, is there any physical storefronts here in sydney that still sell 1st or 2nd generation hi-md units? I need to get another one as a spare =P thanks for any suggestions.

say, i was just wondering, are these mp3 players supposed to be "disposable" ? say after 2 years the embedded battery dies, can you get a replacement? and how much would that cost?

and the earphones were.... FAKE! i'll be posting images soon, to help people indentify real sony earphones from fake ones, hell.. no wonder why they were missing treble.
-
lol, i may have to review these earphones... ok, i've compared it to the Sony MDR-7506 and the stock sony buds that come with my MZR-501 and the Philips HE250 The 7506, being a studio headphone is a good control as to what music should sound like. the highs were not muffled on the 7506, but were slightly muffled on the mdr-ed51 Philips HE250 has clear and crisp highs and bass (sounds like compressed bass, not natural). Comapring the philips to the 7506, it clearly lacks midrange, however the highs, seem to be good (maybe over emphasised?). and the stock sony buds... well they don't sound good at all. maybe i need to get used to the mdr-ed51's but it does seem have very good midrange and bass. The lows are audible even at low volumes. The highs on the other hand sound a bit muffled. (when someone singing tries to break out a "ss" sound you can tell its slightly muffled). However, cymbols, triangles and any other instrument likely to produce a high, sounded very clear on the mdr-ed51's. Strange... maybe my ears need a break in period Overall, having gotton more used to these earphones, they don't seem to be bad at all, they come with a killer package, including this nice and neat leather pouch for your earphones, how nice.

Higher end model? not sure.. in australia there are similar looking earphones they are the MDR-ED31 's In america i believe their name MDR-ED21 mine seems to be from japan and its got the model MDR-ED51LP on the box it says N.U.D.E ? anyone knows what that is?
-
After listening to them for a while.. they seem to be okay.. just not used to the flat sound. I was using tje Philips HE250 earphones before, those seemed to have better highs, but it could just be me. Perhaps these eaphones are just too good for my ears Would anyone happen to have a review for these earphones?
-
they don't sound so well... used it with my sony mzr-501 and there is hardly any bass.. the sound is muffled... is that normal for these types of earphones?
-
lol, more movement on sonystyle australia, most of the 1st gen hi-md units have been re-added, except the nh1 whats going on here?
-
nah, we're all waiting for the 2nd generation Hi-MD units
-
oh ok, i just thought adding alcohol to the cotton bud before cleaning the lens would help as little or no cotton stuff would fall off since its wet thus sticks together
-
and can anyone tell me if a cotton bud + pure alcohol can clean the lens?
-
Do sony even listen to what consumers say?
