I am buying a minidisk recorder and microphone primarily for recording musical theatre stage shows. Recording from a seat in the auditorium and sometimes far from the sound, would you recommend a microphone power supply? I have heard of a Reactive Sounds Juice Box power supply being used successfully. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have recently become very interested in buying a minidisk recorder. My main purpose for a purchase would be to record live performance, and I need your recommendations on what MDs do the job best, and which microphones record live sound the best. Thanks in advance for your help.
