The following instructions will solve the problem I have seen many posts about; SB has no file list in the right window. It sees that there is a drive, i.e. E:, but cannot read the disk and gives "PLEASE INSERT AN AUDIO CD" message. These instructions are from a link from Winamp troubleshooting pages. My Simple Burner now works!!! Hallelujah!! Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Multimedia. Click the Devices tab, double-click the Media Control Devices branch to expand it, click CD Audio Device (Media Control), and then click Properties. Click Remove, click Yes when you are prompted to remove the device, click OK, click OK, and then restart your computer. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Add New Hardware. Click Next, click Next, click No, I want to select the hardware from a list, click Sound, video, and game controllers, and then click Next. In the Manufacturers box, click Microsoft MCI, in the Models box, click CD Audio Device (Media Control), click Next, click Finish, and then click Yes. I did not do the following however. Don't know if it makes a difference. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System. Click the Device Manager tab, double-click the CDROM branch to expand it, and then click the CD-ROM drive. Click Properties, click the Settings tab, click to clear the DMA check box, click OK, and then click OK. I have been looking/asking for a solution for about 9 months now. I wanted to add one thing that might give someone an idea. Winanp, Realone, etc cannot play CD tracks from the CD Drive. They show the tracks (unlike Simple Burner) but cannot play them. WMP gives a "media type not supported" message. I bet this has something t do with my problem, but I cannot imagine what. Any help from the Gurus out there? Thanks, Bill

I have been fighting this problem for several months, and so far no suggestions. Simple Burner recognizes my two cdrom drives, but cannot show any tracks in the left window. All it ever does is say "insert audio disk". My MD is OK and seen in the right window, but nothing on the left except F: or G: drive choice. Virtual Drive changes nothing. OpenMG works fine, but I want to be rid of check inout limitation. 1.8Ghz celeron 512megs ram Win 98SE Thanks, Bill
