Can I ask what minidisc player it is you have? Yeh, these little mics are great. You can carry them around and record wherever you want without any hassle. If the source is too loud for the mic it may cause buzzing though. You could fix this with a battery module. If it is too quite you won't record much of anything at all. Generally a preamp may help. But I think the plug in power is good enough for general purpose

Hi troyka. Its me from the other forum. You live in the UK I assume? I agree with A440. I bought my mic from the US ebay which are 20-20000 whereas these uk mics tend to be 50-16000. It only takes about 7 days to ship from the US and they are cheaper than the UK mics. Check out the church audio mics. I have one of these. They are very good for their price. Hi, I recieved by dr420 this week, and it is amazing. The only problem is that the beatjam programme doesn't work. But you can easily use another programme. I highly recommend the 420. It looks a lot lot better when you have it in your hands. The online pics do not do it justice
