how many years is your HQRP lasts and how much did you pay? See back 10+ years ago, I did buy the real sony gumstick battery made in japan. The truth is, they don't last long neither. I remember I have problems w/ it after say just over 1+ yr. So going w/ what you guys said, what is a good quality charger? I prefer 1 that can charge 2 batteries at the same time

I have the Sony E-DJ2000, it's 1 of the thinnest CD player, a collector item The battery is Nh-14WM, this same battery is use on a lot of MD player as well. I bought some compatible from ebay. They are horrible, junk made in China they don't hold charges. They hold for a few days or even a few hr., then the battery strength totally disappear then there are these dealer that sells compatible, like do you take a chance w/ them, or what can you do? http://www.gnbatteries.us/servlet/the-350/prismatic-gumstick-battery-Sony/Detail how do you guys fix this problem?

Can Sonic Stage 4.3 copies LPCM mode from CD to Hi-MD?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
too complicated for me. If there is a simple setting of copying 1 of the song on a CD via LPCM mode, I'll do the copy. If I have to monkey around, and I don't even have Sound Forge (Who on earth make that, does it cost $?), I might as well use the fiber topic cable of my DVD player and transfer the song to the HI MD What do most people do? -
Okay, this may sounds primitive, but I have been using my DVD player, using fiber optic output to transfer songs in LPCM mode to my HiMD all these years. Now, can you use sonic stage and simply copy that song in LPCM quality to the HiMD?

What is a top notch remote with backlight?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
Alright, in the past few days, I am still having bad connection from my 40ELK to my sony MDR-v900. I have used my headphone to my bookshelf speaker, it works fine. So it is definitely the remote. If noone else have any suggestion, I have no choice but to buy another new remote. As I don't believe it is a dust or dirt problem. I have use air spray, I'll use pipe cleaner cotton 1 more time to rotate the inside of that hole, but I'm not optimistic. So: Is there a better 3 line display than the sony RM-mc40ELK? In other words, is this remote still the best 3 line display? Do they have something like a 4 line or 5 line display? Also, is there a website that list all the sony recent years mini disc player and recorder models? -
What is a top notch remote with backlight?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
I just found out my 40EL only works after I rotate my Sony MDR-V900 headphone plug to a certain spot, I have to keep rotating it until it gives no more static noise. But when I air spray it the other day, I don't have this problem. Is there any 3rd party compatible 3 line display for NH1? If not, I'll buy another 40EL -
What is a top notch remote with backlight?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
I just finished off reading that. And I can't find any new Mini Disc remote model after my one was release about 5 yr. ago. Surely there is some 3 line remote control or better in the past 5 year? I mean, what does every1 else uses in the past 5+ years? -

Jim, that's exactly what happens. But I still want a top notch display though. I'll dig out your thread on Mz-rh1 EDIT: is this the thread, it doesn't say much? and there is no search button in this forum s/w -
What is a top notch remote with backlight?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
I don't know about the rm-mc38el, but my rm-mc32el is totally screw. The fast forward button become like volume up, the the stop button become something like, every button becomes another function. And I almost never use it. I only use the RM-mc40ELK =============== Jim, my 1st RM-Mc40ELK has no problem, the only reason I have to buy 1 used from 1 of the members, is because my rabbit chew thru the wire of my 1st remote. -
I bought the RM-mc40ELK from 1 of the member here a few yr. ago. The Vol. Up button is no longer working. Further, pressing some button doesn't do what it is supposed to do. I have the very same problem w/ another sony remote, a rm-mc32el, it's like all the buttons were re-assigned. Lately, there is also some static noise on both remote. Now, both remote works w/ my Sony CD player and my Sony Hi MD player. I have a MZ-NH1, so I'm thinking any of the latest remote from Sony, should work on my NH1. What's a top notch remote w/ many lines of display, among other fancy feature?

This is what happens. About 1 yr. ago, the battery is not charging, so I assume it's the gold charger stand that is not working. Surprisingly, it's the black adapter. My NH1 is the gold plated 1 from Japan, not the 1 that you guys buy in USA. So my adapter is the Japanese ver. of the charger, that works on 50/60Hz, it: input AC 100V, 12 VA Output DC 6V, 800 mA which is slightly difference than the USA ver. of the adpater. Now, in the past many years, I bought a US ver., 60Hz adapter, and have been using it until it fails. Then i switch to this Japanese ver. of the adapter, and it seems to charge up the battery in the past 1 yr. For those who own the US ver. of this adapter, How long does it take for you to charge up an empty LIP-4WM? On my end, it only took 1 hr. or slightly less. And it seems unusal that it only took 1 hr. Also, is there a charger that can charge 2 x LIP-4WM at the same time?

1 other thing, where's the search button? IF I need to dig out the thread hat I wrote on, I thought I can use the search button, until I can't find the search button

Is there a way to convert a DVD video to a mini disc LPCM signal?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
So there is no way to do it with my stereo equipment? What happens if I play the music DVD and record on my minidisc, what signal will I get? -
http://img838.imageshack.us/img838/4562/sony5packminidisc.jpg see the above link for photo, all 5 disc just arrived, made in Japan, sealed. $65 in total, let me know where you are, so I can go to post office to get a shipping estimate
-
Some1 ask me where is my source, so I fig. I might as well post public to benefit every1. I first saw ebay has a guy going for $75 including shipping for QTY 5. So I email this ebay guy and ask if the disc is made in Japan. Then I saw some store in Japan going for $60 (incl. shipping), so I email the guy at ebay, his ID is HKAsiaMall, and said "thanks for the reply, but your price is high, I found some place in Japan going for $60". Surprisingly, a day later, the ebay guy HKAsiamall lowers his price to $64.99 (for QTY 5 incl. shipping). But by then, I already ordered from Japan. Then the japan guy email me and ask for more $ for shipping, so now I ended up paying $65 from Japan. As such, there is no benefit ordering from Japan, just that guy in ebay will do.
-
Please disregard the above. I've seen ebay (in HK) going for $13.99/ disc, so I'm concern about that price. But I just found a source that sells me that for $7.5 per disc and just ordered 10. And apparently, there are plenty of where that come from

Who are the Hi-MD manufacturer besides sOny? Does Maxell or Panasonic make Hi-MD media? I know Maxell made the regular MD media
-
What will be happening in the next 5 years? Will we have no Hi-MD to get anywhere?

Did those people at PausePlayStop went belly up?
Happy Hopping replied to Happy Hopping's topic in Minidisc
Those trailer trash never reply. I have to keep calling them well over 50 times before they are finally willing to answer. But now I got the answer, they now have no stock. They had stock when I try to contact them 14 days ago. How can these thing still be in business w/ no service? And why do I keep getting this error just after I log in: [#10333] We could not find the forum you were attempting to view.
