Thanks for a very comprehensive reply.
However, I am afraid that I'm not knowledgable enough to fully understand your suggested methods of blanking the disc.
I don't know what Sonicstage and Simpleburner are.
I hope to blank the disc using a Sony MZ-R37 but I can use a Sony NetMD MZ-707 if necessary. I did try to blank the disc using the MZ-R37 but that's when I got the "Track Protected" message.
Perhaps the best way is to blank the disc using the service menu but, again, I'm not sure how to access that either. I have the user manual for the MZ-R37 but that simply implies that a track - protected track cannot be deleted.
Perhaps you'd be kind enough to point me in the right direction? Bearing in mind that I am not a techie!
