Have a wierd problem...
I just bought a MZ-NE410 unit and am having software issues. I have a machine at home with Windows XP Pro, and am having issues ripping CD tracks directly off either of my CD drives. I first installed the version of the software that came with the unit, Version 1.5U. After installing the software I was able to easily connect to the player and record some MP3s that I had on my machine. After playing these MP3s, back through the headphone, there was absolutely no problem.
I then wanted to see how good a real CD track would sound, and placed a CD in one of two CD writers. The software checked the performance of the drive, and provide a track list. The CDDB even worked, and I got a good list of songs. I selected the tracks I wanted to bring over and hit the REC >> button to bring them over. The CD started spinning very briefly, and then stopped...I got the error "A problem occurred when reading the audio CD". I screwed around with the software some more, and then completely un-installed it...registry entries, left over folders and all. I re-installed and installed like 3 more times.
Fed up, I went to work and downloaded the 2.0 version of the SS and Simple Burner software. Did a full un-install of the old software and installed the new. The same issues, I can record MP3s no problem, but when it comes to ripping a track (Simple Burner) I get "Recording failed. A problem occurred when reading the audio CD" I have tried changing CD writer drivers, changing DMA settings on the CD Writers and screwing around with BIOS settings to no avail. I think that there might be something in the registry that I could try to edit, just not sure what to try. Hopefully someone has seen something like this, and has ideas to help...if not I will have to return this player, which has cool hardware...
Thanks for your help in advance,
