I use an Xitel I/O Port. It works great. There may be a loss of quality but you will loose quality with any analog connection. I do not have a sound card with an audio in so I got the Xitel I/O port. I really like it and would suggest getting one if you do not have an audio in on your sound card.

I just bought a new Sharp IM DR420 on Ebay. It has a Mic in and does an excellent job recording.
