I have posted this before, without a proper answer ... There is an alpha version of a winamp 5.2 plugin for the sony hd players. Once complete it should work 100 times better than sonicstage. There is some work being done on a winamp plugin for the sony harddrive players. (link below) http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=...in&pagenumber=1 If it is possible to make a plugin for the harddrive players, then shouldn't it be possible to make a plugin for the hi-md units that are mp3 compliant? Or, is MD protected even further than the other sony players? I'm no expert, just a strong opponent of sony software.

How hard would it be to create a minidisc compliant plugin for winamp 5.21, using ml_pmp.dll as a base, now that it has support for virtually all other brands of portable devices?

i've been thinking about this, and i don't see why some enterprising young programmer/md user can't make a winamp plugin to allow downloading from your computer to the md or himd unit. i'm sure there are enough fed up sonicstage users out there to make it a hit program, and since winamp is now allowing portable device support in the 5.2 beta versions, there is some sample code (ml_pmp.dll). there's alraedy soemone making a plugin for the sony hd players as well, link below. http://forums.winamp.com/showthread.php?s=...in&pagenumber=1

I just bought this hi-md player off amazon. I've only had it for a sec, so maybe this is premature, but the volume does not get very loud. What's with this? I know it's not the quality of the mp3s, cause I burned them at very high quality vbr. Is this normal to all minidisc players? Is ther a fix? Is it in th manual that I haven't read. Also, please direct me to another forum if this is inappropriate. any input is appreciated!

so, you are able to upload recordings made from mic (or other input)? i thought that you could only re-capture in realtime. and if you can upload from player to pc, is it only pcm or does it work for any compression? will it work with older units or just hi-md? this is only iceeeedteas version too, right? p.s. i registered just for this question :smile:
