  1. Hey sorry about the length of time it took to reply, I havn't really had much time/access to the net lately. Yes, I'm positive. I tried the steps of unistalling everything, then reinstalling SonicStage 2.0, and it didn't help, so there's definately something wrong with the unit itself. I'm going to get a quote on its repair price some time soon, if it's a ridiculously large ammount I'm just going to buy a new one. It only cost $350 in the first place, compared to what it was retail in Aus ($699). Anyway thanks for your help.
  2. Hey guys, after my MZ-N910 recently stopped being 'Net' compatible - as in I can no longer connect it to the computer, I've started looking around for other units to replace it. I'm not going to get rid of it, because it still records and plays perfectly, but instead of getting it repaired, I want to just buy a new unit - because the repair cost will probably be the same anyway. I've decided on going with the Sony MZ-NE810. I understand that it's a Japanese-only unit, but I like the look of it, and it's nice and small as well - also has Net compatibility which is my main 'want'. What I would like, is comments from people who own/have owned a MZ-NE810. Just anything about them - good/bad/whatever. I want to know peoples thoughts before I buy one - preferably people who don't live in Japan, then I'll have a better idea of compatibility and stuff. So, any comments would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  3. No ideas? Damn, guess that means a trip to the sony repair place. Thanks anyway.
  4. I've never really had to clean any of mine before, but where the little metal 'flap' thing is that exposes the disk when it's inserted into the unit, there's like a trigger that releases it when it's pushed. Just push it down with a pin and slide it open, then you can spin the disk around from the center and hold a cloth or something on the surface... If that makes sense? Hope it helped anyway!
  5. Hey guys. At this stage, I'm extremely worried, that something terrible has happened to my unit, and it's going to cost me craploads to repair... Normally, when ya plug it into the computer, weather it's on battery or DC power, it comes up with 'PC>MD' on the screen, right? Anyway, I was making some new discs, then sonicstage suddenly infored me that there was no device connected. I pulled out the USB cable, and plugged it back in. Windows gave me an error saying 'new hardware wasn't installed correctly, it may not work'. So, i paniked. I tried unplugging and plugging in the cable again, this time, nothing. On the md's screen it flashed up 'PC>MD' for about less than a second. I thought - ok, computer problem. No worries. So, I reformatted the computer, thinking that it'd help, everything would be refreshed, I could install the drivers from scratch. Well, that didn't help. If the unit just has its battery in and you plug in the USB, nothing happens at all, either on the MD's screen, or the computer. If the MD is running off DC power, and I plug the USB cable in, it says 'PC>MD' for about less than a second, and does nothing. I'm freaking out now. This has never happened before. You know - it's worked, for the year i've had it, without ANY problems at all. Now this. Everything else works fine, i can still record in normal mode, playback, all the other functions work. Oh and I should probably mention that I had the same problem on another PC when i tried connecting it to that. So. Does anyone know what is going on, how I can fix it. Or is my MD completely buggered up beyond my own repair, and I have to take it to sony? Thanks heaps in advance!
