What's the volume like on this model? Do you have to have it turned up far to get a reasonably loud sound?

I do have a classic MD and I can't remember tha last time I sat down and listened to my MiniDisc 27 hours straight. 27 hours seems fine to me.

Eh? I've read the Hi-MD has a good battery life of up to 27 hours. That's pretty good in my book, especially off of one AA battery that is easy to replace.

Commercially I think this will be a dead duck. There's no MP3 support, so how could it be an iPod killer?

That's a bit of a pain really. The froogle links all led to places that were out of stock or pre-order with no fixed date (to the US only). First chance I get I'm going to bulk buy a few.

Is it possible to import tracks from a CD as one big track? If not, how can I merge them afterwards. Cheers

In preparation for buying a Hi-MD I wanted to ask a noob question about something. Is it possible to join tracks together somehow before they go back onto the MD? I have quite a few talking books on CD which have a lot of tracks and I'd like to be able to make them into having less tracks, so there's no pause when the player comes to the end of a track. Basically joining tracks together. Thanks
