Just tried the TMPG convertion as seen on the news page. seems to work well but my freq seems stuck at 48khz must be the audio card i guess. i noticed the file size is 25mb as apposed to 26mb using Marc,s converter. Any one else tried it yet? Dave

'800: live recording (display time remain, prevent autosplit)
dave_bass5 replied to poorlyconditioned's topic in Minidisc
On the 900 you can turn off markers when recording via mic. im not sure if you can on the 800. I record my bands rehearsals (about 3.5 hours long) in one go without markers and put them in latter. Dave P. -
NHF800: Can I see the recording Level Meter on Playback?
dave_bass5 replied to novice64's topic in Minidisc
Its the same on the 900. pain in the ass really. I use it for the same as you. i have level set at 15/30 and mic set for loud music. Dave. -
Thanks. thats what i said in my first post but wasnt sure. Dave.

Suggested method for uploading recordings from Hi-MD
dave_bass5 replied to dex Otaku's topic in Minidisc
Re: another alternative method , does this mean you need SS, TR and a recording app opened. I can get this to work by setting the input in Audition 1.5 to record through TR but it means i have to have TR recording as well. Have i got this correct. Thanks Dave. -
Suggested method for uploading recordings from Hi-MD
dave_bass5 replied to dex Otaku's topic in Minidisc
Just noticed that my MZ-n1 is sitting in its charging standl, no battery in it (powered from the mains) with the pc connection showing and the pc is off. i guess there is still power going through the motherboard. Ill try this with my NH900 later. Dave. -
RichM i take your point but as ive not much experiance with SS2.1 and it was playing my files through the PC i thought it would work. as it was it did indeed transfer the first track. Ok now i dont know how but it did. i cant prove it but will look into it. Dave

Yep, thats about it. what gets me is it didnt stop me or warn me whereas it stops me from doing anything usful. Piece of crap. Ive hadMD units since they first came out and a net MD since that came out but its the first time ive used SS2 and look what happened. Dave.

I wanted to transfer a disc from my MZ-N1 using SS2.1, all seemed to be going well but after it had finished i ended up with a blank disc and no files transfered even though SS2.1 said all was ok. I sort of understand why the disc was blanked (not happy though) but where did the transfered files go. Ive looked everywhere and they are not on my PC. This was not the PC the tracks originated from but i would have expected at least a warning before i lost every thing. Not happy Dave.

Suggested method for uploading recordings from Hi-MD
dave_bass5 replied to dex Otaku's topic in Minidisc
Nice post dex, just one thing though. i know with my 900 the unit gets powered by the usb connection so the AC adapter is not needed. i would have thought this was true on all Hi-MD units with usb. Sorry if im wrong Dave. -
maybe thats why Sony supplies 2 clip-on ferrite units with the recorder. Dave

Sonic Stage 2.0 will not update to 2.1 from uk.
dave_bass5 replied to dave_bass5's topic in Minidisc
bhangraman, that is the us site you have posted.. as i said that works fine but the european site will not update to 2.1 Dave -
Ok, what a waste of time. Yes you can divide and combine tracks BUT....you have to import them into SS2.1 and convert them to ATRAC first. you cannot edit tracks transfered from MD. This is just a quick look and i dont really know SS2 but as far as i can see its going to need some sort of work around. Buy the way divide and combine are in my help file for SS2.1 Dave.
-
Dex i think we spoke about the need for this the other day. I found it in the edit menu of SS2.1, just trying it now. Dave.
-
I have gone to the europe link for Sonic Stage 2.1 but when i run the install it says im up to date with version 2.0, if i go to the us site it update to 2.1. Whats going on? Dave.

I agree about the display on the 900 and wish it had playback meters like some other models Dave.
-
jadeclaw im sorry but i dont understand your reply. I know i can edit on the recorder, i want to be able to do it from my PC over usb. Sorry if i got your reply wrong Dave.
-
Indeed it seems rether silly to leave this feature out. Oh well, another limitation found and im sure its not the last. Dave.

Is there a program that will let me edit tracks and markers on the PC to the MD unit. I only want to work with the disc, not actually transfer the music to the PC. Thanks Dave (new owner of MZ-NH900)
