  1. Unbelievable.....after taking advice from this forum, I have ordered a rh10...it's going to be shipped any day now!!!!! Do I cancel? Do I turn to the dark side? I cannot believe I decided to go with HIMD, and days later Sony may well be dropping it! This has really annoyed me!
  2. I have a new pc, all I need now is for my shiny new RH10 to arrive! Would it be a good idea to get my cd's into my harddrive now in preperation for transer to HI-MD. Or does the data need to be put onto the harddrive through sonic stage? Probably a daft question, I did do a search and could not find the answer I was looking for! Thanks for reading this!
  3. I have looked around for the answer, but I seem to find conflicting information! Can the RH10 be recorded to using an optical cable! I have read on this forum that it can and then that it cannot! I am not that "technically minded" when it comes to some of the speak that goes on on this site..... I am hoping to buy this in the next week, but as I do not have a pc (yet) I would need to be able to copy to it using my old trusty optical cable! Incidentally, where is the best/cheapest to buy the RH10 from......and is the latest version in the shops got the lastest upgrades to it?
  4. Hmmmmmm, I am tempted by that...... How much would I be able to fit on using standard optical recording?
  5. I am in the market for a HI-MD player.......price is not so much of an issue (at the moment) Is it really a case of the more you spend the better the unit, or am I being silly! I do not have a pc at home (at the moment, will be getting one soon) and was wondering how much I can copy to HI-MD using the standard optical connection....hopefully it'll be more than the 5 or so hours I can do at the moment on my Sony MZ-R501! I would be able to copy stuff to HI-MD from my PC at work though! As I understand it, the NZ models are the best....but I thought I would ask you guys! Thanks in advance for any help offered.... GAvin
  6. Thanks for the replies..... So I guess it's not really worth going for if it is not much different to what I alredy have..... I was interested in it, due to it being on sale for £50! What would you recommend as a unit then? Also, are there any decent bargains out there?
  7. I am after a low end HI-md machine! I do not have a pc and would record using the optical from a hi-fi! Is this player any good? Whats it like compared to my existing unit...Sony mz-r501 Thanks for any help/advice!
  8. Hi There, and thankyou for such a quick response! Hmmm, i'll try giving the source player a clean! So, I am on the verge of getting a HI-MD! What model is recomended, especially as it will not be connected to a pc very often! I'm assuming the cheapest would be the most suitable, but what is the general consensus?
  9. This is my first post here, so Hi and please, be gentle with me.... I currently own a Sony MZ-R501, I have been really happy with it, but for some reason, it has started to not be able to put track marks in the correct place. I have tried all that is detailed in the instructions, yet it will not track mark properly. It's annoying but I can live with it, it just would be nice to be able to fix it. Any ideas what I can do? I now see that HI-MD is out, I am VERY interested in upgrading to this format, but I do not own a PC (I only have PC/internet access at work). Without PC access is HI-MD still worthwhile or should I wait a while? Thanks for taking the time to read this post, hope you can help Regards Gavin
