thanks Cori so far the similar posts suggest that it is MDLP vs. non-MDLP in-compatiblity. it is not a major deal. i just noticed it few days ago. i can play CD-R/RW on my Sony DVD player. thank you for your advice tom

how's it going? i have found that mini discs recorded on my Sony MDS JE-330 home deck playback on the deck & my Sony MZ NE-410 portable player. however, all the mini discs that were recorded on the portable NetMD via Sonic Stage do not work on the MD deck unit. i suspect the ATRAC-3 encoding or Sonic Stage software is not compatible with the home MD deck. has anyone run into this? i have read through both the manuals, without any success. any advice would be greatly appreciated. thank you Tom
