To be honest, I would like better QC of ordinary 1GB disc...
-
It would be nice to do some statistic between our members - how many of us bought faulty blue translucent HiMD discs? And whats most interesting, I never had single MD that shows some sort of fault or detoriation.
-
A440, those problems you've got with opaque discs - bad spot form where it won't upload - were they on the same place on HiMD disc? I mean, were they easily recognizeable (let's say, you can record till 54th minute) and persistant, or they vanished from time to time, and emerged again on that very same place/time mark...?
-
Yes, it stops in one moment when playing throug SS, and it wont upload track. Faulty disc? Ouch, again... These new discs are fault free, I thought they are. So, it is not the case? Anyone else experienced the same problems on new HiMD?

Last night, I went completely crazy. My valuable recording made on MZNH700 went completely wrong. First I tried SS 4.0, and until one point everything went OK. But Sonic Stage refused to export recorded file from HiMD disc to library. Then I tried method with Total Recorder, and it was the same. HiMD discs are brand new, translucent blue pieces I bought in USA. But, there is no single problem with listening that file on MZNH700, and bouncing of the unit were not produced on that particular spot. So, what is it? Faulty disc? Faulty unit? Should I try different formating of HiMD blanks (formated HiMD disc via Minidisc)? I always thought that new HiMD are trouble free, but now I don't know really what to think, except that I'm desperate...

No standalone version for us?

@A440 Well, I tried it today early in the morning... tried to convert them separately, and... no luck. Everytime I tried, just get that "Cannot convert" popup window. Restarted PC, once, twice... again annoying message and refusing to convert... at the end, finally, I gave up. After around 5 or 6 hours of pause - tried it again. Success - but with bitter taste in my mouth... Anyway, big THANKS to all of you! BTW (speaking of Sony's software developers), is it so hard to put together some device driver that will allow freely transfer of files between the unit and HD via Explorer or any other file manager?
-
Oh man, I'm really, really disappointed with that gibberish Sonic Stage - probably expected too much from badly written software. I will try track-by-track converting. How many resources some must have for converting recordings properly and without faults? Mine PC is Athlon 3.0, 1 GB RAM, 120 GB HDD... and it isn't enough... Really, I can't figure why Sony constantly doing such things? Because, I like Sony's conception of solid built devices and implanting latest technical developments such as digital recording into such great little machine. And, on the top it is crappy software...

Ouch, I did clean install of SS 4.0 on my machine, and just wanted to do transfers of valuable recording I made few days ago. First disc went OK, but second one... you guess, probably ... get "Cannot convert to wav" message Not to mention that disc are from the same, newest HiMD Sony production line (bought it a month ago), recorded with same settings... I'm nervous, and confused a lot

I'm in a process of reinstalling my system (from the scratch), and I would like to ask our members is there any issue with SS 4.0 regarding uploading of recorded material via mic in or line in? My basic purpose of using HiMD is field recording, and I would like to know what version of SS to install on my fresh, newly installed WinXP system, but I'm confused if everything is working OK. So, is there any limitation of transferring process between recordings made in Linear PCM to hard drive? I used Total recorder trick (1:1 strategy), and rather old version of SS that came with my MZNH700, but I decided that transfers of recording should be much simplier, and linear process. Big thanks for help and opinions, Milan

it works very well, at least for me

@Ishiyoshi, many thanks for this link...

Well, I asked simmilar question in this forum, few months ago - I pleaded someone who has original 4.0 Sonic Stage CD to put image of it on our forum. That image file can be done with Nero, Alcohol or Iso image maker. It is quite simpe, and it can be very usefull. You can install whatever you want from such file and even make installation CD.
-
It is the same with me, as long as Koss The Plug are involved. Sound is not even acceptable, and that silicone ear plugs are bad thing to wear. Not to mention crappy plastic tubes that can even injured your ear.

I was thinking - would such thing be possible... if anyone have some good full version of SS 3.4 or 4.0 from CD obtained with his HiMD, such CD can be compressed as image file (with programs such as Nero or any other) and can be attachable in full for members of our forum. Such factory produced disc can be trouble free from various mistakes, and, we can have some clean install of our main program for HiMD... Woudn't it be possible?
