Check this out; I threw in a SS 3.0 Sony factory CD, installed it and it works !!! (I haven't hooked up an MD player yet, I only brought my EH1 PLAYER to work today, but I'll try my USB units later!!)

Thanks man, but 2 problems: 1) I'm using Win98 (which isn't even mentioned in the thread) 2) There is no evidence of ANY Sony folder (even in regedit), considering I never had successfully installed the program to begin with.

Thanks for the reply, but can you please be more specific as to which FAQ you're talking about?... maybe a direct LINK? All I see in the FAQ section of this forum related to the topic is the thread telling you what versions are available, then the add-on pack for US Connect users (I won't be using Connect). Thanks again.

Ok, I thought I'd try out Sonic Stage on an old laptop... first it said my Win98 IE needed to be at least version 5.5... I did that, then it said Media Player must be 7.1 or newer... I installed version 9. Now whenever I try to install the program (from the minidisc.org forum - the standalone non-internet connection one), I get "Please update Windows Media Player to version 7.1 or newer"... even when it says ABOVE on the INSTALLER window: WMP: 9.0.0.2980 !!! (Recoginizing I have MP9). I cannot get past this point, it will not let me install. PLEASE HELP!!! (I'm using the US version downloaded from the download section in this forum) Thanks.

my review of the Sharp HP-MD33S Four Pole Headphones

By the way, I noticed the Sharp HP-MD33S came w/ 2 more pairs of replacement rubber plug heads... anyone know why? What I mean is, do they eventually tear? Is it a sanitary issue?? Curious if any long-time users know. -

I must FOLLOW UP here!!! I just realized that I wasn't using these plugs CORRECTLY... turns out I didn't have them in far enough in my ear.... once they're in a bit deeper, there is GREAT BASS response!!! If I could just surgically cut them in even deeper.... just kidding. Anyway, these earbuds are AWESOME!!!! i highly recommend them ! -
That's it...I've Had it...Done with Hi-MD & Minidisc!

Never thought I'd be the MINORITY in a minidisc forum, but I LIKE my hi-md player... maybe it's because I HAVEN'T used MD for years like many of you have, and it's all new to me. Anyone else HAPPY here? I think my NH900 rocks. -
I knew Minidisc was a niche format, but...

Notice also, the ZERO by his FEEDBACK. Either a new Ebay user who is an idiot, or someone smart enough not to reveal their true identity or main Ebay account. -
Just got these earbuds based on several recommendations. My take, if anyone cares: Sharp HP-MD33S PROS: Very lightweight & comfy Portable (obviously) Crisp Highs Lows not bad considering size CONS: Lows (bass) could be better the "Y" split is uneven (perhaps to allow people to use what seems to be a monoural feature to use just one plug, because the "Y" split in the cable is uneven which I find annoying (not very stealth if your cables connect not far below your neck). What I recommend for portable walkman headphones w/ the perfect balance of cost, portability and sound: Sony MDR-A35 Sports http://reviews.cnet.com/Sony_MDR-A35G_Spor...64.html?tag=txt They're not perfect, but the folding-up aspect makes them almost as portable as earbuds, plus these kick out much more BASS than the Sharps I mentioned.

1 If it is so doomed (which you're probably right) why do you bother using it and talking in this forum? 2 Technically there could be someone on this planet still buying 8-track tapes on Ebay and playing them... so if I'm the only one using MD in 10 years, so be it... i LOVE these little discs. 3 The software/interface may change by some smart hacker, or Sony finally giving up, a last straw to try to sell all their remaining inventory of MD players.

So they said about vinyl records 15 years ago... all the techno artists I listen to still cut on wax ONLY. Very big in Europe still.
