  1. A big huge THANKS to everyone!!! I ordered her an NHF800 from datavis.com (thanks for THAT tip!) and it came yesterday. It is SO adorable I just want to keep it for myself! Too bad I don't have a decent home computer or I may be tempted to get one for myself. I can't wait for her to open it on Christmas so I can look at it out of the box. Thanks for all the recommendations and tips. Lori
  2. O.k, but the rechargeable part is totally wasted because she won't be able to recharge it- how much of an inconvenience is it to use the external AA batteries??
  3. Hey All, thanks for the advice. Max budget is around $400.
  4. Hi All! I'm looking to buy my little sister a MD player for Christmas. She leaves in a few months for the Peace Corp and I wanted a way she can take her music library with her- but not having to lug the 100+ CDs she has. I originally thought MP3 player like the big iPod- BUT it has a non-replaceable internal battery that must be recharged. She is going to Africa and may or may not have access to an electrical source, plus she would have to have a power converter. I started doing research into MD players and decided this is definitely the way to go for her, since from what I've found most run on standard, replaceable batteries. There are SO many options out there, I'm not really sure of the best way to go. Here are the criteria I find important: 1.) Must run on replaceable batteries (AA, AAA- etc) 2.) Must be reasonable durable- 3.) Price is not really THAT much of an issue as we were looking at the most expensive iPOD as an option (plus she is gone for 2 years so this is her present for the next 3 christmases  ) Thanks! Lori
