  1. having experienced the creative zentouch, i would have to disagree. the touch pad is problematic (particularly compared to the ipod), the software is rudimentary (again compared to the elegance of itunes) and it is significantly more bulkier design wise... which is why i no longer have it. much as i am drawn to the sony hdmd, the overwhelmingly negative response to sonic stage coupled with the draconican drm, means that i have not made the same mistake twice. which is nice.
  2. thank you rombusters, i think that may have helped clinch the deal. i did not realise that the hdmd also functioned as a data drive.. that makes all the difference since i really only want to use the hdmd player for recording lectures and backing up data. i've been sold on the player itself, it's the ss software & the negative feedback in response to that i've had strong reservations about.
  3. so let me understand this. if i make backup mini discs of data transferred through sonic stage.. and i need to reformat my computer, none of that data can be transferred back onto my computer through a new installation of sonic stage?
