  1. maybe you already knew this - then I'm sorry! I just transferred one of my old MD's to the Computer... starting position: analog recorded Minidisc (MD, SP-Mode) SonicStage Version 3.1 Minidisc Deck Sony MDS-JE700 HiMD-Player Sony MZ-NH1 while it's still not possible to upload analog recordings by SonicStage (v3.1) directly, I tried this: - connected the Deck with the HiMD Unit by optical link ("optical out" to "optical Line In") - played the Minidisc on my Minidisc Deck while I recorded it on my Hi-MD Unit in Hi-SP Mode (recording is digital!) - after this I could transfer the music (now on HiMD) by SonicStage to my Computer (note: it's only possible to transfer each file once) - then of course I used the great HiMD-Renderer to convert the files into wav I like this way more than recording music on my Computer Well, it only works with analog recorded Minidiscs. If you've got a digitally recorded disc you will need to record your music (on your HiMD Unit) analog or through an SCMS-Stripper and then upload it by SonicStage. any other idea? I hope this post isn't too boring
  2. sorry guys, this smily was about the price, not the md itself!
  3. looks pretty good, better than the first gen. hope price is coming down...here in switzerland one disc is still about 12$
  4. sorry, guys - it was a bit confusing to me. did i get this the right way? if i want to digitalize my old md's (on a md-formatted disc) i can record it digitally on my hi-md unit in hi-sp mode. then upload it by sonicstage to my computer as wave or oma? so my question is about recording digital...
  5. so what about recording a known track (PCM or a known signal e.g. a sinus), store all files. download it with sonicstage and compare all files? wouldn't you get a answer of what sonicstage changes while 1st download?
  6. Cause I want to buy a Hi-MD this week I'm now looking for information about it. As I nowhere found upload times on Hi-MD I tried to calculate it...please correct me or inform me about your upload times, thanx! 100x upload speed (of 48kbps coded songs), seems to be 4.8Mbps, doesn't it? That would be 0.6MByte/s, so it would result a upload-time for 1GB of approximately 28mins? Am I totally wrong or does it take so long?
