After reading kurisu's post about the nh600 rip off, it reminded me that a friend of mind said that their were chinese rip offs of all Hi-Md models which released themselves before the real units did. He put his life on it that these units existed. I failed to believe this. He claimed that 2nd generation models e.g (dh10, rh10 rh910) were knocked off and released in the middle of last year in china at the time when the real nh1 was out. I have offical made a bet with him that these unit do not exist (at least not nearly a whole year before the release of the real models?) can anyone find any relevant evidence to back up my belief or know anything about chinese rip offs?

I thought that it might have been the encoding on my rh910 as well but suprisingly my disc did display properly on one of the nh1 units. What i'd like to know is wheather there is a difference between a japanese and chinese model, the japanese seems to only display kana and kanji ( in some cases they don't) but the chinese one is able to display english, all chinese charecters (traditional and simplified) and jap text. You'd think that it'd make sense that the chinese one can't display kana but guess what it does. please explain

This is the strange bit. Maybe i didn't explain properly. Ok this is the thing First i used overseas and japanese version of sonicstage couldn't encode and transfer to my rh910. I used the chinese sonisstage it encodes and transfers but my rh910 can not display the text. However when i tried my disc with the encoded songs on it in two nh1 units one could read the text and one couldn't. As far as i know their are only japanese and north american models of HI-Mds maybe a euro model. That's why i'm not sure if the unit in which my disc was read is a chinese model which somehow seems to be different to the rest. Tho i believe that the two nh1 units were japanese. You see the problem?

It would be common sense, but the strange thing i'm talking about is how two identical models are purchased from asia. One can and the can't read. But both of which i doubt are overseas models (European or North American).

I had problems uploading songs in different languages to my rh910 however that's now solved and i'm able to successfully "load" and convert my japanese and chinese media on to my rh910. However this where the mystery of these machines are puzzling me. My rh910 can not read asian text such as chinese and japanese. Therefore i thought that's problaby because it's an North american model. So i took my disc and used it on one of my friend's "japanese" model nh1. That had the same result it couldn't read the japanese even though it was a "japanese model. However then i went to a different friend who also had a nh1 but he bought his in china i wasn't excatly sure what model it was but it could read all of the japanese and chinese charecters on his 40elk remote. I've accpeted the fact that the north american model can't do this but how can two nh1 models both from asia be different in the lanuage display?

I've done some further testing and it seems it's not supporting languages other then english. e.g non of my files in chinese or japanese can be transfered. It's a rh-910 i bought in the the states a couple of weeks ago, don't tell me the north-american version can't run lanuages.

Hi, this is my first time using sonic stage, i'm having trouble converting and transfering my files. It either says "can not convert because It does not support the format of the file or cannot transfer track. Also when i import my files on to the sonic stage library it totally screws my IDtags especially ones in other language but it doesn't even read my english ID tags properly thanks in advance

i was so tempted by the white remote as well, i've been looking for one (which was totally white) for ages now, however what put me off was the lack of language support it's a 53elk or 55 so i'm not too sure what sorta of language support it can handle, cause i listen to asian music i need the language, so too bad for me, oh yeah the colour is a normal pink. Should be the same one on the sony.co.jp site

no remote hmm, looks like i'm gonna have to go the rh10 that has colours and remote right?

do you know if datavision is stocking the silver coloured rh910? Also can we get some infor on the bundled remote, (if it actually comes with a remote) like what colour is it and can it support multi-lingual display? finally i was just wondering if you can buy from datavision duty free ( as in if i go in store)? thanks p.s: enjoy your upgrade

i'll be in NYC for a few days after a couple of weeks. I was wondering if anyone knows weather the online prices are the same as the in store prices or is it greatly cheaper online (it usually is) but i wanna make sure

kardon i see in your avatar the rh910 is silver looking, unless i've mistaken it for a rh10, does anyone know if the colour will be avaliable cause i prefer it over the black gray colour
