  1. Hi!! I followed the instruction on the forum to bypass the low level volumen on my NZ-N710 via service mode. But now I have the following problem.....all the buttons, play,pause....make the level to raise or to decrease. Anybody knows how to restore the unit? I tried to re-enter to service mode, but it's seems not work ....
  2. I Have an MZ-RH1, it's a great unit but due a eject button it's inpossible to carry on de pocket cause it's so sensivite.... Insted I use the MZ-NFH800 for lisening. My biblioteque it's a mix of MD and HI-Md disc, but normaly I use the standard MD mode , due my MD car unit only works with MDLP/SP disc.
  3. I bought my MZ-1 one year ago via ebay, in a very good contition. The sound of this unit can't be compared to the Mz-RH1 but it sounds quite good, due Mz-1 uses atrac1 versio 1.0. Anybody know a onlie shop to buy the battery? Thanks!
  4. Look at this page....from japan, a Hi-MD deck than can handle both MD, regular Md aswell as Hi-MD desck. (it's a litle expensive, but it's the only model that can't do it) it can record on MD Mode ( Sp,LP2,LP4 and mono) and In HI-MD Mode (HI-SP,Hi-LS and Linear PCM). It can play ,all no standard, atrac3plus bitrates, from 48kbs from to 356, but i can't record with this ratesm only playback. There is no USB conection..... If you want to look this unit you can at: http://www.audiocubes2.com/category/MiniDi...iDisc_Deck.html
  5. I have a Nokia N70 with Mp3....but it's sounds very diferent thant on my MD....so, I still using MD I love the maner that it sound's i have and NZ-N505,NZ-NFh800, MZ-N710, two MZ-RH1 one Sharp IM-DR410H and two decks...MDS-J480 and my finaly the Onkyo MD-105FX (HI-Md capable unit). Also I have the firts portable made by sony in a good condition...the Mz-1..... So, as you can see I prefer MD over the rest of the products. Also I have a large MD library (about 300 or 400 recorded MD and 5 prerecorded) so music is always with me....always with my MD:-)
  6. -Euro units versions have a les power output than others versions, cause euro rules, but in this unit this limit vol is not so restrictive that on MZ-N710, otherway on this forum you can find the process to skip this "cap". -HD Digital amp, means High Definition Ditial Amplifier, so it sounds betther than traditional analogue amplifiers even at low vol, also this feature help to expand the bat life. -Yes, it come whit usb cable -The audio out on the rh1 a regular 3.5mm -Normalitze feature means, that if you record some tracks at different level on a regular MD when you play it you must to adjust each track at every time, with normalize active, you simple chose a desiret vol and all the tracks of de MD sounds ath this vol, no need to reajust each time. -The donwload /upload time is the faster that it can be, the fact this unit is usb 2.0 compliant...but its a little slower than a hard drive, althought transfering tracks from and MD /PC is faster that before. -EQ settings have 2 modes, one is the normal mode, so you can chosse bettwen JAZZ; Classical.... or even tho adjust your proper settings. The second one is based not on the music, so is based on the "ambience" arena.... For me , I prefer MD than Ipod or flash MP3, cause it's more flexible and it sounds great.
  7. On Sonicstage is not posible to create True SP (292kbps) files, cause when you export to MD machine, the software converts outomaticaly into atract3 (at Lp2=132) and then this file is exportet to MD unit like a SP track. On a Portables and decks, if you want the best quality use SP mode (but this sp mode depend's of the version of atrac that it's envebed into the unit) if you have a unit with type R or S i sounds great.
  8. Type R is and advanced version of the original Atrac codec (SP) that only it's involved into recording purposes (on MD and Net-Md machines). Type R + and enhanced version of Atrac3 (for LP2+LP4) is called Type S (on MD and Net-Md machines). For a Hi-MD, atrac3plus (at any bitrate) sounds great even at 48kbps..., but in Hi-MD mode you can mix Atrac3plus codec (at any bitrate, but only at 48kbsps from sonicstage) or atrac3 codec (LP2=132bkps , or Lp4=64Kbps ). Of course you can mix Linear PCM.
  9. For music data : -From Sonic Stage or MD Simple burner just press Stop, then afther a few seconds "eject disc ok" or similar is displayed on the display, then is safe to unplug the unit For general data: -Do the safe unplug windows procedule OR -Wait until Standby apears on the screen of the unit
  10. Hi !! I had an MZ-N505 that died by blank discc err.... Now I have an MZ-NHF800 and two MZ-RH1 afther looking this pages... anybody knows if blank disc erro is a general isue with all MD units ? If this isue happend on all MD units, can we demand Sony for it? Cause RH1 isn't cheap Thanks
  11. My votes goes to...... On MD mode: *for portable music or for Vinyl disc (or mp3 files with pour sound ) Lp4. Cause it seems that at this bitrate it removes the noise *for the rest Lp2 (or SP if you want to use this disc on non MDLP machines) On HI-MD Mode: *To back-up my CD, simply PCM (No compresion) *For portable music....I use a mix of HI-LP or LP2 or LP4 on the same disc *HI-SP sounds very good but I normaly I don't use it. I must to admit that atrac3plus a 48kb sounds very decent on my walkman (MH-NHF800 and MZ-RH1) and on my Onkyo HI-MD. But I only use it when I want to put a lot of tracks on a simple disc, i.e for vacations
  12. For this price you can get a new Hi-MD Deck, just for les of 100$ on http://www.audiocubes2.com/category/MiniDi...iDisc_Deck.html
  13. If you don't want to use Sonic Stage you can use Realplayer (only for disc in MD mode it don't work on HI-MD mode) MD tech isn't drag and drop
  14. just a curioisty.... Atrac sounds betther on MD machine than on my PSP..
  15. I use and I will use the MD and Hi-MD even if sony disconinues it for this reasons: -Low Cost media -Very usefully -Easy to carry -Long battery life -God quality sound (for my atrac sound much betther than mp3) -Durability of the media (much better than CD, flash media or even HD portables) -Advanced editing function (merge/comvie/move and erase of the tracks) -No requieres PC (it can be managed directly on the unit itself) -Large library of my recopilation (I ripped all my CD to MD) -The ability to record on live inviroment , I don't wanna spend all my buged on an Ipod that only plays music And...cause I'm a MD Fan!!
  16. It's possible to use two MD units at the same thime via analog line-out // line-in. If you wish to use Sonicstage o MD simple burner with two units at the same time, via usb, it's not possible. Yo can switch betwen then on sonicstage If you want to put data, not music, you cant do it, cause boths units may work as a standard masive storage (only in HI-MD mode)
  17. This unit sounds great: Sharp MD-DR77 Auvi 1-Bit MiniDisc Recorder Fore info on: http://www.audiocubes2.com/category/MiniDi...c_Recorder.html
  18. If you want to print your stickers you can buy it at : http://www.riverproaudio.co.uk/Itemdesc.as...amp;eq=&Tp= also it can permit to donwload the soft to desing and print the labels.
  19. I don't know wy Sony don't push Hi-Md format...it's sound great and is compatible whit legacy MD....it's a shame..
  20. Hi; Extract from Wikipedia: Different storage temperatures produce different loss results: 6% loss at 0 °C (32 °F), 20% at 25 °C (77 °F), and 35% at 40 °C (104 °F). When stored at 40% - 60% charge level, these figures are reduced to 2%, 4%, 15% at 0, 25 and 40 degrees Celsius respectively. More info on the next link--> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lithium_ion_battery
  21. Hi; I have this units and booth can record on LP4 ( only when the disc is in MD mode, not HI-MD), if you need to put LP4 tracks on a Hi-MD mode you need Sonicstage to do it....but for me atrac3plus at 48kb sounds much betther than LP4
  22. This MZ-RH1 have the "ablility" to inport legacy MD tracks, as well as Hi_MD tracks, that was recorded via Digital or analogue input. To do this just plug the unit into usb port, insert the MD that you want to inport and then inport it to sonic stage. Sonic Stage give you the options, one is to inport the track in atrac mode, and the other one permits to inport in atrac mode and then when the inporting proces finalize the inported track was converted to *.Wav, so you can use the wav file into another program.
  23. YEs, it's possible to mix Mp3 and atrac files on the same Hi-MD disc the uinit change and recognize the format automaticaly. (Mp3 files must be exported from Sonicstage)
  24. Hi folks!!! Now is possible to import songs from Itunes to Sonicstage directly, no need to burn a CD on itunes and then import to sonicstage. That's possible if you convert your itunes library to itunes plus (whit a little cost) itunes plus eliminates the DRM and then all *.mp4 files of the library will be DRM free, so you can open Sonicstage and then import via file menu!! thats great cause I have a vast itunes library cause conect store is not available on Spain....(and no more on other contries...)
