After about 3 years of use my NHF800 has had its first real issue, just wondering if it can be fixed. The slider on top of the unit is no longer moving the metal catch inside the player that opens the face. The metal catch is jammed and will not move, it is permanently in the open position, so it will no longer stay shut. If i press the sides together it still works, so for now i guess ill just duct tape it shut and keep one disc in. Any suggestions how to get the metal catch moving again?

Sadly it is time to part with my N1 which was my first Net MD and a fantastic player and recorder, It has served me well and I have taken good care of it. The back is a little scratched but the front is in excellent nick. (Its only issue is that the disc ejection mechanism is not fully and discs do not spring out when ejected and must be pulled out when the eject slider is used.) Whats being sold is: - MZ-N1 Net MD Recorder + NIMH Gumstick - Charging Stand - Power Pack (Australian/Not Original) - USB Cable I'm looking for $50 USD + postage payable by paypal or through a western union money transfer, I have previously dealt with Syrius and he should be able to provide feedback if you have any concerns. Please PM me with any offers, if you don't live in Australia it may be advisable to not ship the power pack as it will cut down on the cost of shipping dramatically, instead i'd be happy to chuck in 5 free MDs. (incidentally, how do you guys taking pictorials end up with such great pictures? i struggled miserably ) cheers, steve

it is quite easy to carefully take the slider off another disc and then attacth it onto the one without a slider. I cant find it but i know there was a thread a while back with pictures of a guy taking apart a HIMD disk then putting it inside a regular one it contains the exact steps that you should follow

i only have 3

the remote is for the NHF800 only, if your not doing mac recording there is no difference between the M100 and the RH10 just in price

I had a pair of these and i thought they were great, sadly one of the headphones snapped off when i fell asleep with them on, the only thing to watch out for is they leak sound at a tremendous rate, everyone around you will be able to hear everything playing

if theres no ATRAC codec how could it even upload recordings unless they are PCM
-
it can transfer mp3s but not atrac tracks??? whats kind of stupid idea is that, what makes MD is atrac and its quality sound

I'm in Australia, i was just wondering and have been unable to find anything appropriate here, searching for microphone capsule yeilds nothing at all the major electronics stores and the part number WM-61A doesn't help and doesn't even return a response on the Panasonic - ECG website. any suggestions as far as where to buy and what i should search for cheers stephen -
where are you currently, how much are you willing to pay?

yeh ive used optical out on my G5 Powermac to record discs to my old MD recorder doesn't make a really big difference as far as i can tell though

a good way that i sometime use, is to plug the MD into my mac and then record it using a program like Sound Studio 3.0 which is quite a good recording program, however directly recording might not be that much quicker then using Sonic Stage in VPC http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/10003 for Sound Studio

I would like to repeat the same point I posted on your site, With such valuable interviews I find it hard to believe that you didnt keep a hard copy on the MD or even move the recording from Sonic Stage, sonys software is buggy but such valuable material should be backed up whether kept on Disk you recorded onto, converted in a WAV and put somwhere safe on your Harddrive it isnt sonys fault you failed to back up your work
