Nice to see some comprehensive product testing going on then.... I have the same device so it would be nice to know. Sorry for appearing ignorant but what is an Aura device? Is this a new product range or do they mean any audio device?

Thanks for the reply. Will not be using this on my Win98SE PC since the last time I tried installing .NET my PC went belly up and I had to reinstall Windows from scratch.

Hi, Can't get HiMD idx to work on my Win98SE system, I get an error message saying there is data recorded on the Hi MD and that some errors will occur. At this stage I click Abort, just to be safe. Neither can I get HiMD Xtract 0.05b to work, a DOS window pops up for half a second then the program quits. Any ideas anyone? Thanks

Hi all, Had same problems as many others re full installer package and subsequently not recognising my MZ-NH900. Tried the suggested fixes and finally got it to work by uninstalling everything (Sony) as suggested and reinstalling from internet but had to do it twice - the first time the install went through the whole procedure perfectly and said that SS was installed successfully - but it was nowhere on my system! Not even any shortcuts either! Immediately reinstalling it worked fine though I've ended up with Connect which I didn't want, and it's a US version (I'm in the UK). Doesn't really matter though as I won't be using it. Many thanks to all those who work to find these fixes for us mere mortals, I wish there was somewhere we could *politely* (ahem) voice our concerns to Sony as customers with regards to their software and certain 'strategies'. I can't help but think that if Apple's iTunes and iPod were as difficult to work with (I assume they aren't, have no personal experience) then they would not have as great a market share as they do today.

Hi, I too got my NH900 from Amazon for £70 - I was just browsing late one night and thought I had misread the price - it had dropped from £200!! Had to wait three weeks for it but well worth it. Looks like they're trying to clear shelves before the next generation come out. Now if only I could get a Sony HDD/DVD recorder with the same deal.....!
