No, my french is not in default because it's my mother tongue (I live in France). But my english is poor and I translate "as is" and it's approximative. But I don't know when and where do you hear "Sony has informed me that a new HI-MD deck is to appear in the new year, to compete with blue-ray and flash memory based mp3 products recently introduced". maybe in an other show?...

I'm agree with some people. It' possible to use a flash memory based player with the Hi-MD capabilities such like divide, combine...) and Sony should have use the ATRAC3/3+ format (or a new version (ATRAC4??) that shoub be retro-compatible) and a free drag'n'drop for import/export with PC. I like to use MiniDisc for their ergonomics use. I never use this MP3/MP4 player that have 4 or 5 buttons and you don't know how to enter in the menu how to modify volume easily without reading the documentation. If I find a device like I describe it above as ergonomic as MD and can record in WAV, OGG, FLAC or other format that is not so degradable as MP3, I surely buy it!! But I like the ATRAC format wich (for me) is better as MP3.

I've seen today (18th of december) on Canal+ (a French TV) a report of the return of Vinyl LP in a TV show. Ok! thanks for quick answer. So, has Sony implemented a code in the TOC or somewhat else in the disc to warning users? Is it like the GDROM of Dreamcast : when you insert one of these in a CDROM player it displays a text file who tell you it is a GDROM and it can be damage your CDROM player.

Hello there! Sorry if this thread has been already discuss but i cannot find anything about this. And I don't know if I do put this topic in MD or Hi-MD section. I recently bought a Sony MDS-JB930 Deck and I'm very happy with it. But a strange history happens today: I would like to record some CD with anti-copy system on MD and then transfer them to my PC. So i take an MD and put in my Deck and see what happened : The deck display "Hi-MD disc" !!! The disc was not empty and have tracks in Hi-SP mode. Have someone noticed this before?

Yes, you're right. Legacy MD (made before MDLP) can only play SP tracks. LP2 and LP4 recordings cannot be played on this type of unit.

I'm 31 and bought my first MD (SHARP MDMT-18) in 1999. Now i own a MZ-NH900(black), a MZ-DH10P(silver), and a MZ-RH1(black).

For me (I use Sonicstage 4.2) it doesn't work ! Hello! I'm searching help to use gracenote CDDB with Sonicstage CP (4.2). For me if I install the 3.4 version everything works fine even without installing the update patch for Gracenote! But if I update sonicstage to 4.2 it doesn't work. When I ask to find "CD infos" it appears a dialogbox with the message "Do you want to register?" and I click YES but nothing happens. And no info is displayed. I've tried with Winamp and it works in all case!! Idem for Simple Burner it works fine. Is sonicstage 4.2 bugged for this function??

Hey guys! I've a strange trouble with bookmarks on Hi-MD. I have bookmarked some songs on a Hi-MD disc with my NH-900 but when I want to select bookmark mode with my DH10P it says "There is no bookmark in this disc". So I re-insert my disc into the NH-900 and the bookmarks are still here!!! Very strange, is bookmark different between 1st and 2nd gen units?

Hello everyone! Since MZ-RH1 is in store I dream to get one. Owner of MZ-NH900 and a MZ-DH10P, i think i'm a MD fanatic (am i silly, doctor?) Just have bought one MZ-RH1 on ebay! Very nice machine! I've paid it 300€ (~420$ US) but shipped with 8 Hi-MD and the 40ELK remote! Now, i'm dreaming to get a ONKYO FR-N9 but i cannot found it in Europe. ( ~103$ for the the cradle and ~40$ for the cable!) At this price I prefer to buy a new one! I will purchase on ebay...

The DH10P seems have a proprietary connection. I have never seen this type of connection on other USB devices.

I'm searching for a charging cradle for my new MZ-DH10P i've bought on ebay. It comes without it and i cannot charge it or download music. Please help me ! Other solution : if someone has an idea to transform a charging cradle for MZ-NH900 to be compatible with a MZ-DH10P ?
