  1. With the reduced DRM Restrictions in SS 3.4, would it be possible to create a reverse simple burner, I.E MD to CD?
  2. Go to the following link and click "Save" watch the short ad at the top, it's definately a Hi-MD in the picture!! It also has Atrac plus bit rates and can record in PCM, so i don't see why it wouldn't be Hi-MD compatible. http://www.sony.jp/products/Consumer/netju...M7HD/stock.html I've been waiting for something like this for years, nothings been able to compete with my now very old MD-515. These are going for about £350 in Japan too so not over priced.
  3. Cheers Ishiyoshi, I followed the links, installed Connect player, imported some music, messed with the settings and removed Connect player. To be honest SonicStage is better and has HI-MD support, as well as support for all Sony's other portable players. The Auto updates didn't appear to work either, but that could be a firewall issue. Connect Player issues: It's clunky when you have a lot of tracks (I have 4,000+) When importing tracks if you have a .OMA and another version of the same track it will import it twice Compilation albums get jumbled by Artist File save options i.e artist/album/track is confusing to say the least "%S % T"??? Oh and the big one it doesn't support any devise other than the A Walkman range!! Message to Sony, ipods are shit everyone love itunes. Connect looks nice but what's the point of having a consolidated walkman range of really great hardware then having different and useless software for each device. It just doesn't make sense..... all it acheives is more itunes users. I think I will wait for the official Sony Connect download, i imagine that by next week they'll be on version 2.x
  4. Does anyone know if Connect Player is available to download anywhere? I have checked the ususal Sony sites but they only have SonicStage 3.3. As always Sony releases new hardware shipped with new software but no-one else has caught up. When will they communicate effectively?? It is still unknow as to whether the connect player will be HI-MD compatible, however, from what I have read it should be compatible with all Sony portables, including the new walkman phone.
  5. HI, Will MDCF be releasing a downloadable version of SonicStage 3.2? THe company firewall stops me from downloading the official version! Cheers
  6. While messing about with Last nights PCM recording of Coldplay on Radio 1. I have discovered that when using Windows Media Player 10 in Sync mode it recognises my NH600 as an external device. This means that the .wav version, roughly 1gig, I had imported to SonicStage can be converted and compressed using Windows Media Player and saved straight to the HI-MD. Using the advanced Sync options you can select the bit rate and it will convert and save the files direct to disc, it even creates nice folders! Obviously the player cannot play them but as long as the copy protecton is disabled they are free to copy as you wish. Not bad 1 disc containing the music and the files, maybe something Sony should think about selling!
  7. Cheers for this tip, it really works! I couldn't recognise my NH600, until this little gem of info. Now I am happily transferring and using SonicStage 3.1, which I have to say seems to works quite well. Cheers
  8. Thanks for the help, I had un-installed 3.1 and re-installed 2.3 but I gave it another go anyway, unfortunatley the same problem persists. It is very annoying even after taking out the registries and re-installing it still won't recognise the player. I think it might be to do with the new feature of 3.1 where it opens on plug in, but with Sony it could be anything!! Also due to using my work machine our websense blocks the pages that the Sony installer is looking at, i only got v2.3 because I harrassed Sony to send me a cd version. So getting the official release is also a no no! Cheers anyway, i will keep looking for a solution, it seems that it's not just me suffering this problem.
  9. I have a MZ-NH600 and have just upgraded to Sonic Stage v3.1, using the download, MDCF version on this site. It all seemed to install ok until i plugged the Hi-MD in and Sonic Stage doesn't see the minidisc! I am using my company works computer, as i don't have one at home so there are all sorts of firewalls preventing me from downloading Sony's version of Sonic Stage. I have Windows XP, and have downloaded the windows updates previously for v2.3, they all worked fine. Does anyone have any ideas of how to fix, find the minidisc again, it is available in Explore as a removable device. And yes I have looked at the pinned FAQ and followed the remove/retore to the letter and still no joy. Please help!
