Hi kimbahpnam You will find a back lit screen amazingly useful for recording concerts, as far as mics there are alot of good choices for 100-150. Sound profesionals is a very good company they have a great reputation and a great selection of mics. Ive heard really good things about their mics with audio technica elements. How ever if you are handy with a soldering iron you can make your own microphones fairly cheap(thats what i ended up doing). if you go to the construction projects page on this site there are a few great links on how to build mics. If you need any help just pm me id be glad to help. Peace Scott

Theres news and bad news flogen The only way you can get your recordings from that recorder is via the headphone output. If you try using lower sensitivity powered electret mics mics you may be able to get usable levels, but i dont know how loud the speaker is at your lectures but it could be worth a shot. Peace Scott

I would go for the juice box as it is cheaper and the circutry is the same just the quality of the components matter from box to box. I have never used either box but would assume from the reputation of reactive sounds they would use very high quality components.

If you want to save yourself some money alot of the mics on ebay use the exact same capsule as those mics. il include a few links to ones that have the same specs. they should perform the same as the sp-bmc-2s http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...=15056&tc=photo heres a pair the only difference is that they are 2db less sensitive although watch out for the battery box from that seller it only uses 2 AA batteries which provides only 3 volts instead of the usual 9 volts which allows electret microphones to realise their full dynamic range. also sound pros has a set of bmc-2s up on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...gory=41466&rd=1 sorry i could only provide 2 links there usually are more people selling sound professionals workalikes on ebay. I make microphones as well and would be able to make you a set( pretty inexpensively) but i am still waiting on parts I need to make a few sets for my band. hope this helps Peace Scott

since no one has posted yet. I would have to say yes it is for sure a decent mic if the specs are correct. It might not have the widest stereo spread but would be a great mic to start with. For louder concerts you might want to use a battery box. Peace Scott and p.s i think the A442 is quite clever

If you are dead set on recording with that mic and your MD sound profesionals has a few pre-amps you could use which would allow you to plug that mic into your MD hovever the cost of one of those pre-amps would be quite costly for the money you would be better of getting a nice pair of binaurals and a battery module. thats just my 2 cents Peace Scott
