  1. I've never been clear on that. Nyquist theorem IIRC states that the sampling frequency has to be at least twice the source analog frequency for true sound reproduction. Typical frequency response of home sound equipment is 20Hz-22kHz (correct me here if I'm wrong). According to theory, 44.1kHz sampling frequency should be adequate, especially considering the limits of human hearing and audio equipment. So, if the sampling frequency is set higher that 2x ( in the case of DVD, 48kHz), then the accurracy of the reproduction is even more assured, right? Help me out here, my physics is a little rusty...
