  1. Thanks for the suggestions, but I've made my decisions. Anyone interested in a 30Gb SONY Net HD player? NW-HD5H - I'll sell it for 50$ less than the best price you find on net.
  2. Ok, the software installed, but now there's another problem - the openmgjbox.exe is not working properly, so the whole SS crashes. So, what I'm going to do next is: 1. Recover my pc (come back to the state before reinstalling the OS). 2. Put my Network Walkman on sale (and even sell it cheap). 3. Buy an I-Pod or an Iriver. 4. Try to forget the whole nightmare SONY has put me through. 5. Encourage anyone intending to buy a Net Walkman to first try install SS.
  3. So... OS reinstall worked. I could have installed the SS software. Now, I'll be trying to get my music on the net walkman...
  4. The MSCONFIG trick did not work. On the other hand I've crashed my PC while trying to update the bios in hope that it might help install the SS... The livechat with SONY reps did not give any results after numerous attempts, every one of them just ended up saying - The installer works on other computers, so something's wrong with your computer. What is wrong we do not know. Well... I'll try to reinstall the OS this weekend. If this does not work, I'm through with SONY.
  5. I plan to reinstall the OS during the weekend. So on monday I think I'll have some insight. If I don't manage to sell the player beforehand... It is so frustrating that a state of the art tech fails at a service software level... I own a lot of sony stuff and it's like your friend stealing from you. Argh.
  6. I hate to say it... But after following very carefully the instructions, i did not succeed to have it installed. I'll try to reinstall the OS. I hope it'll work as my feeling is that something is wrong with my user profiles - although i've just one user on my win xp pro and it has administrator rights, something tells me that the installation considers it to be not the administrator. I guess a OS reinstall would help... Anyway thanks for bothering.
  7. Hello, Kurisu... thaks for the welcome. I'll try to find the FAQs...
  8. So, I'm getting to the core of the problem - I've downloaded the MDCF package and tried to install it from there - and I got an error message when installing the SS itself and th SS add-on. You can see the error in the pic. I've browsed through this forum, but did not see errors like this one. So, does anyone know how to fix it? 'cause I'm really desperate now...
  9. Ok, I'vew purchased my Network Walkman just recently and had a CD with SS3.1 on it. Installed the software - everything ran real smooth and then.. I just can't find the software to run it. There's no shortcut, no files in the installation folder - nothing. Tried to install it again - same problem. The installation goes smooth (progress bars and stuff) and nothing except a few web links for registration on my hard drive. Did anyone encounter this and how did you fixed it (I hope it can be fixed - otherwise I've just given a $250 gift to SONY... )
