  1. Ok guys, weird thing just happened. I went into the options and enabled the hidden messages to display again and tried a transfer. It did that little prompt like it did you tried to get anything done the first time you opened the program after and install or update, and it worked! Sorry for the trouble, but if in the strange instance that this happens to another, I hope you can refer to this thread and find your solution (and bang your head against the wall for the next hour or so, at least until you feel as if you have gained back your common sense back). Thank you for all the help!
  2. Thats the thing. I've tried to make several other recordings in different modes without touching them after they are written to the disc, only to have the same thing happen. Also, I am able to play back the recordings on Sonic Stage and all the tracks sound fine. Thanks for the replies. I'm going to keep trying.
  3. Hey guys, it's been awhile since my last post but I was hoping you could help, as I'm getting quite desperate. I have just made a copy of a record onto my RH10 (in PCM), slapped on all the track marks (inserting and taking them off which as I understand is a kiss of death), and sorted through the songs and titled them in HiMD render, but now cannot transfer to my computer through sonic stage. I was running 3.3, and in the past 2 1/2 hours have uninstalled, reinstalled, downgraded to 3.2, all exhibiting the same strange problems. Basically, when I hit the transfer button, it just loads the disc again and just sits there... I'm pretty sure it's the program as I've tried to use a 910 to upload the tracks, switched out usb cables, tried other recordings on other modes with and without track marks. Here is some other information that may help; I've got around 7 GB left on my HD and am running on XP (thats about the extent of my knowledge on the specs of this computer at the time) Any advice would be appreciated, Thanks! edit: Sorry! Just realized I should have posted in the software discussion thread! Feel free to move it around or whatever. Thank you
  4. You guys gotta check out the Robocop Kraus and Baxter Dury set. I've been listening to Kraus for awhile, but since seeing Dury on the Fabchannel.com, I've bought his 2 albums online. Both are excellent.
  5. Are you able to make recordings from a phonograph through the onkyo? That would be one of the major reasons for me to get one. Also, is there any way to title the tracks on the home system, or would that have to be done on the portable itself or through the computer? Thanks
  6. I Shot Andy Worhol was pretty cool.
  7. I've been listening to a lot of Yo La Tengo, Slowreader, Ee, Total Shutdown and Baby Harp Seal recently.
  8. That X5L looks pretty sweet, and I was considering one for myself as I've been archiving a bunch of albums in the flac format. Can that thing record in .wav through the line in, or does it just encode to mp3 right on the player? I can't seem to find to much about the recording functions of the cowon unit. As for your dilema, I dunno, keep the X5L for listening and maybe keep one of the Hi-MD units for recording. Never know when you may need something of a higher quality than the X5L may be able to provide. That was kind of my plan if I could just manage to save enough money. Anyway, good luck, and take care
  9. This is a bit depressing, but alas, all good things do come to an end eventually I suppose. I still plan to squeeze every last bit of life out of my Hi-MD units, as I probably won't opt for any of the HD players for the next few years out of spite. One day some company will come up with the perfect solution to all our problems, and I hope to see all of you on those boards. Untill then, long live MD. On the bright side (well... if there is one really), we could get like 1000 cool points for our use of "vintage, outdated" md equiptment. How the ladies will swoon. haha.
  10. ^^ I hear you man. It's nice that you let them know. It would be a dream to not only get the band's ok, but their encouragement and support (an autographed MD would be nice too). The way I see it is, from the band's position, it's a gret opportunity to not only use fan recordings to improve their live shows, but also to experiment and share with other fans in the form of short clips on their website or an EP or something. How cool would that be?
  11. Hey there, check out the SJ-MJ50 player here and the SJ-MR250 NetMD recorder at here Thanks! Kris
