  1. I wonder which 'other forum' that would be?

Any way, I bought some pretty coloured rubber bands yesterday, so I could attach my remote control to the side of my NW-HD5. I have a blue silicone skin for it, and the blue band works great! Pretty exciting, eh? and only cost 99p for a big bag ;)

  2. Great to hear you've come back to MD! But I'd still get a case for your NH700, if I were you and treat it carefully. They are rugged, but can still be broken.

I have a HDD (Sony NW-HD5) and an RH910, which gives me the best of both worlds. The HD5 does seem much more fragile, and skips a lot more - well actually the MD never skips. Anyway, enjoy your lovely MD! :)

  3. 'Alternative' from the early 80's which is 'my' era (hope it doesn't age me ;)) :

The Smiths/Morrisey, Echo & The Bunnymen, Siouxsie, Cocteau Twins, Jesus & Mary Chain, Wedding Present, and so on . Oh, also some T-Rex and I love the The Libertines too..

  4. Instead of creating a new thread and annoying a mod, you could always use the BUMP 'facility'... ;)

Although that might be equally frowned upon.

  5. I'm running Sonicstage 3.2 now, and I quite like it, though maybe it's not quite the bees knees. I use it for both Hi-MD and my NW-HD5, and it works, Ok, maybe a bit slowly as some people have said. But it does the job, and it hasn't crashed on me - yet .

Oh, and I'm also burning MP3, ATRAC and audio CD's (love the normalisation feature there), and it's all fine. Can't see what all the fuss is about, myself, hope it's not famous last words though.

  6. The Sony RH910 is a great alternative to the RH10 if you don't need a fancy fluorescent (OLED) screen. Otherwise the RH10 and 910 appear to be identically featured, with a digital amp which gives superb sound quality. These are the current highest spec MD recorders.

    Here are some specs:

  7. Is the CD copy protected? A lot of commercial CDs come already copy-proofed in the box when you buy them (though there should be a warning sticker on the jewel case). This contravenes the redbook standard for CDs, but there you have it... Otherwise all first generation CDs should be digitally copyable onto your deck.

You can either just stick with analogue copying, or you may be able to make a copy from a PC burned CD-R copy....
