yes, just go to www.audiocubes.com. AFAIK, bookshel means when the speakers are about 30 cm tall, and 30 cm deep, as well as the main unit not being more than around 30cm deep. -

What have you just done to your computer!
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
Seems to be working again, for now. A while back my system restore function wasnt working, thought i;d give that ago. Lo and behold it worked and all seems to be ok at the moment. If.i mean next time it happens I'll get out the old air can and do what u did. I think somehow my boot files may be getting screwed up because i can often get a proper boot if i use msconfig to disable all unnessecary startup programs in safe mode then reboot. Thats the weird part, is that im always able to restart in safe mode. -
happy bday dude

What have you just done to your computer!

Sorry all, but TODAY, I get the whinge award. Yet again, my computer has been incredibly 'unstable' if thats the right word. It has not wanted to restart. Same old, starting, then the little blue bar getting stuck at the windows logo. It seems that every time i think ive sussed out the problem, another one rears its head. I think should start calling my computer, 'The Hydra'. Chop one head off and out pops another one. I mean i do enjoy the feeling of getting it all working again, but i really would just like to be able to say i built a computer that works without any problems. Granted, it's my first build, but still. Listening to a bit of Enya to chill the nerves back down before bed. You can laugh but i dont care For some reason i think the song 'may it be' from the lord of the rings kind of echoes the tales of woe that are me and my computer lol. On top of that, i had to reactivate my windows xp pro OEM again. I hadnt really changed anything of significance. In my efforts to restore my computer to working condition, i disabled one of the two graphics cards, and fiddled with the overclock settings in the BIOS of my mobo, resetting the overclock profile to 'auto', 'none' etc. Cant think of anything else that might've done it. Also uninstalled Norton internet security 2006 once and for all. Have nod32 installed atm. Seems quite quick to start up which is cool. I am starting to wonder whether saving my money longer and getting a 7950 GX2 would have given me fewer issues as its only using one PCI instead of 2 with my two 7900gt's. Anyway, its almost 1am. im so glad to have everything working again. Thing is I still only have 4 startup processes set to run at startup. I cant be bothered to go through a process of elimination right now at least. -
A language lab in Japan equipped with MD
mercury_in_flames replied to bland10000's topic in Product Reviews/Pictorials
pretty nifty stuff. I take it uploading to PC isnt a necessity? -
I would guess that it helps to have a cheaper and a more expensive option for md users, the 74 and 80 min discs. It also might appeal more to Dj's who want a a smaller or larger amount of playback time depending on their playlists better. Mostly i just think its just offering a choice. The 74 min pack of 5 can be about 5 dollars cheaper. A long time ago, i might buy the odd single md, it was bout a dollar cheaper for the 74 min disc. When i buy a ten or five pack i get the 80 min. So, i used to but dont bother with 74 min anymore.just my two cents.

Anyone experienced bugs with the latest nvidia drivers?? I recently did a bunch of things to my computer, fiddled with virtual memory space, system restore, and a bunch of stuff in my bios. (I wasnt able to hibernate again). So next thing i know i cant even get past the windows logo at startup. I thought it might have been a virus as i had no internet security for the past few days (disabled with msconfig), so i restarted in safe mode, did a virus scan with the anti virus cd in the drive, no virus's. As ive got two 7900gt's i thought maybe there was a conflict or something, so i set the sli option to single, still no go. So, finally i realised that since what was happening was; get to windows logo, the scrolling blue bar doesnt even go by twice before the lights on the keyboard flash, and the monitor is off, theres hdd activity for another ten seconds or so, and then just nothing. So i restarted in safe mode, uninstalled the cards and surprise surprise the computer starts up fine. I then installed the older drivers that came on my gainward cd, drivers 84.21 (as opposed to the troublesome 91.31), and rebooted, all is now fine and ive just been gradually switching things back on in the 'startup' tab in ms config. Keepin the clone cd startup process off as that might have been causing my problems i had with running F.E.A.R ('cant find original cd' message). It seems norton was not at fault as I thought. Reason why i think its the graphics drivers at fault is because of the hdd activity and nothing happening on the monitor(the screen is brand new and hasnt show any problems). The last time i experienced the same problem, i uninstalled both cards, and reinstalled the 91.31 drivers, since the problem appeared again, ive put the older ones on. Also ran Registry booster and fixed used it to fix any bugs in my registry, and did a 'registry defrag'. Also ran security task manager just to see whats cooking. Im now a happy bunny. for now that is. Will remember to do this in future; use a piece of paper and check things off as you go to find the problem. Managed to keep my sanity, unlike the usual -
Heh, better than paying 20 pounds for a new pair lol

Problems with pc game F.E.A.R-please help

well in my experience norton is a serious bugger to uninstall completely off a computer, i mean every trace of it gone. Now i just have it disabled in ms config from starting up. -
Problems with pc game F.E.A.R-please help
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
i sent the tech support an email and they told me to turn off the stuff from startup using msconfig, and update to the latest graphics drivers. I already had 91.31 drivers for my 2 7900gt's, but for some reason just this morning i couldnt adjust the settings on it, and it was giving me a run.dl error message and closing my 7900gt settings control panel. So i uninstalled the drivers, rebooted then reinstalled again from fresh. I turned my internet off when i restarted, and tried to run the cd, and now the game works fine. (Norton wasnt running since the restart). I also found that my outlook 2007 beta 2 started up faster. Im really glad my games working but not so glad that i suspect norton might have been the cause. It was either norton or the starforce protection on the game seeing that i had an active internet connection or something or other. cheers -
Problems with pc game F.E.A.R-please help
mercury_in_flames replied to mercury_in_flames's topic in The Loft
yep but as usual they're useless. cant see anything about problems after using cheats. -
Well first what happened is that whenever I loaded my directors edition ‘f.e.a.r’ (bought from amazon.co.uk) into my cd drive a message came up saying ‘can’t find original cd’. So I uninstalled alcohol 120 % and then tried again, still the same problem. I then uninstalled the game and cleaned the registry from entries that game might have left, installed it again, STILL same problem. I eventually managed to get it to work, but I think a program called xfire might have had something to do with it. That is not completely fixed however as it still happens once every so often. My main problem right now is that after uninstalling the game, I used the cheat codes to get back to the level where I was. I then used a cheat code to get ALL weapons, I typed ‘t’ and then ‘gear’. So then when I got back to where I was, I ‘dropped’ the extra weapons, but then I could not scroll forward and backwards with my mouse wheel to get my weapons to start using them, why is that?? My BIGGEST problem now is that I can not pick up any other main weapons, such as a sniper rifle, in Interval One at Exeunt Omnes, near the end there is an automatic sniper gun, I cant pick that up for some reason, when I press the F key I just hear a faint beep noise in the game. The same occurred in Interval 04 where the enemies had shot guns, I can clearly see them on the floor but I can’t pick that weapon up either. I have updated the game with the patches and now have version 1.6. Here are my specs; {Custom built computer} Windows xp pro, 2 gb ram, 2 x gainward 256mb 7900gt in SLI configuration, amd 3500+ CPU, motherboard is an Asus A8N-SLI premium with realtek on board audio. Graphics drivers are nvidia 91.31, direct x 9.c.

run it out by using the click wheel loads, or just leave it playing over night. Given the battery life of those things normally isnt more than 12 hours at best you'll have it ready to charge by the morning. -

wow, very nice I am exactly the same with my mess, i hate it when anyone moves anything lol cus i know roughly where everything i want is. Sheesses!! I paid around 50 US dollars for my 4 D cell mag. It was worth every penny. I reckon if you were a cop you wouldnt even need to carry around a batton, just one of these torches, 'WHACK!!' and you'd knock anyone unconscious lol. -

lol brilliant. hmm thats got me thinking, i shud get a hole made into my matress so that i can take a leak through the hole and send the wee to the toilet instead of having to get up when im in bed reckon it will catch on? (j/k) -
Just got this, hope to test my 7900's further. From doing the stress test and only getting 'medium' performance computer, i suspect it's something to do with my cpu. Doesnt really matter i guess. With everything set to max, i got fps' from 21 up until 100 so lol i guess i'll have to try the game at full graphics and THEN go to medium if i see its not all 100%.

i suspect that while you wont have any problems running the files from an external hard disk, just be sure to make sure u habe sonic stage set to NOT add copy protection otherwise if you need to reformat or anything like that, you wont be able to import the files and transfer them.

by the way if u want silver discs u can go for the sony 'neige', i doubt you eill get one on ebay but they have them at audiocubes. a uk etailer called digital-e also probably has the older version of the neige which isnt very different from the new one. If you want to see other kinds of discs you can also check out audiocubes.com
